Actually, we live in Texas, and I would have to say that pajamas or nightgowns can be essential for small dogs such as Yorkies. Even if you don't believe in clothes for dogs, pjs might be a must for some.
For example....Kandi gets cold VERY easily. She has been known to shiver so hard that I've taken her to the vet thinking she might be ill. She just gets that cold. Pj's are an enormous help for that. It's not the only thing we do, but it's a pretty major part of it.
Also, when we have other dogs visiting, they can become so worked up that it gets a little out of control. By putting pjs on everyone, it keeps the situation much calmer and easier to control.
So, I would have to say that pj's are no more out there than dresses. | I don't mind putting Derby in a shirt or a sweater or a coat because he's cold or needs an extra layer. I know that because we live in Canada, that he'll need booties to protect his paws from the salt/snow.
I think "dressing up" your dog everyday just because is a little silly, but it's cute to put them in a halloween outfit or something for 5 minutes lol Although I've never done it and probably never will.
Pajamas just seems so "extra" and unnecessary? but I guess we'll find out if Derby needs to keep a shirt on (or pajamas) once the temperature really starts to drop.
Thanks for the info ~ You've all been really helpful!! |
