Wow, seems to be a pattern... my yorkie walks off the potty pad when pooping too! My Bichon and Schnauzer never do this. LOL :D |

Though I really like having it right outside the door, just can't see having a big potty pen on the patio for summer BBQ's LOL. Hope my description makes sense. Maybe I'll post a pic of it if I can remember. |
My Fletcher poops with his leg up, like he's peeing but he's pooping. He will hop 3 - 4 feet during the droppings so I too have 3 - 4 cleanups per poop session! It's sooo bizarre but I guess whatever helps him get it out! haha |
I would try tinkering with their fiber too--my friends Yorkie was doing this and we found out her anal glands were all filled up and probably very uncomfortable for the dog. In the end, I think they had to change her food to one that made her anal glands not need to be expressed so often. Just a funny story--as a puppy, Stella HATED grass, especially WET grass...which was a problem because our community waters the grass in the morning and at night--her potty walk times. She hated it so much that she started to go on the sidewalk so when we were out for walks I would put her in the grass as she started to go potty so that it wasn't on the sidewalk! Well, she decided that she hated the wet grass so much that she started hopping like a bunny while she was doing her #2! I guess she wanted as little time as possible on that grass! I've since given up on the grass thing because she clearly hates it--probably something about the icky prickly Florida grass, because she seems to like the normal thin-blade grass... |
It seems Yorkies have their own thing going on during potty-time. That must be funny to watch. Buddy does a complete handstand and walks while peeing:p |
