I'm 19, and my brother is 6, lol. We're about 13 years apart. My parents had me in their early 20's (mom was 21 or 22, I believe) They divorced when I was 10, dad got a new girlfriend, mom got a new boyfriend... Mom had my first little brother Connor (who passed away in 2006, CONNOR CARES FOUNDATION; In Honor of Connor) He would be 9 this year. :( Then, my dad and his longtime girlfriend had my other brother (who is 6 now). Kind of long story but you asked! :p

My boys get fresh fruit and veggies sometimes, but that's all. I used to give them more, but Joey's tummy is so sensitive that he gets diarrhea very easily, and I figured it out pretty quickly - so no more than a couple bites of fruits/veggies for him. Tank would eat tons if I would let him, but I just feel better if they eat mainly their dog food. Just out of curiosity, what do grapes do to yorkies? I read something mentioning "what grapes do", and it kinda worries me - my boys love grapes. If they're toxic in some way, I will need to stop! I would hate to be harming my babies...

please stop the grapes asap; all dogs loves grapes but they are deadly for them; they can shut down their kidneys; i know a big dog "lab" that ate 7 grapes and sadly died from kidney failure. please be careful; no raisins or onions either. take care

I haven't seen these at PetSmart but Sadie loves them. They are nothing but baked low sodium cheese. There's more information on this web-site. They are about the size of a nickle but are easy to break apart.

I'm so sorry your little brother passed away, he looks like he had a bundle of personality. I'm am glad that your family has decided to make the foundation, education is so important in regards to swimming pool and lifeguards, I use to be one, and one isn't enough for a whole pool. It looks like your family is making a difference!

They have to much salt etc. Plain popcorn would be better.

Thank you Nancy. He was a huge part of my life (and still is) and I miss him greatly every single day. We figured the only thing we COULD do to honor him was to start a foundation and help save other childrens lives. Michael Phelps (Olympic swimmer) mother actually attended an event of ours and is trying to get her son involved as well.

That would be wonderful, Michael Phelps could bring lots of awareness to the problem. My own "little brother" was a lifeguard at a lake, where they only had one lifeguard, and the beach club sold alcohol! He tried to save a young man who had been drinking, but couldn't resuscitate him. That had a lifelong impact on his life as well, so it works both ways! I think that people get an unfounded sense of safety when they hear the word "lifeguard, so much of the time, your just breaking up fights or stopping stupid behavior, it's hard to keep your eye tuned to see those in distress as well.

I just read about Connor and the foundation. What a great thing to make something positive from such a tragedy. My son swam in college and was a lifeguard/swim coach. I agree that there isn't enough training or maturity in so many of the summer pools. I applaud what your family is doing.

Fiona gets table food very seldom these days...but i have to says she is OBESSED with POPCORN! I cannot get her to get away from it! My boyfriend makes popcorn often and she will usually get maybe 2-4 pieces of it! ;)

It's so hard with those sad looking eyes not to give them a little taste, but knowing it's not good for them I guess we'll have to stop their little "cheating habits" too!!! I'll look for healthier treats this weekend, but she does love her cheerios! :p

Definitely! Drinking and water do not mix for sure. People do put too much trust in lifeguards, as we found out. The sad thing is... we went through an 8 day trial in which 8 jurors unanimously declared the pool company (not the guards) guilty of gross negligence and every single guard except one got on that witness stand like it was NO big deal. All kinda shrugging their shoulders, "oh well a kid died" attitude. It's really sad that it's come to that. My little brother's life was lost and our family is still suffering, and these people are just like "eh, it was just a fun summer job with my friends, I never expected anyone to die." One "lifeguard" was angry because he had to miss a football college game to be at our trial and testify. The owner of the pool mgt. company actually stated on the witness stand they had zero responsbility for the safety of the children in the pool and basically blamed it on Connor himself and the patrons of the pool who didn't see him either. My mother was sooo overprotective people made fun of her. This was ONE TIME she gave in and let Connor go to the pool with a close family friend and this happens. He is not a father himself and was with 2 other young children (his girlfriends kids) so who knows what happened exactly. My mom lives with that guilt every day though of allowing him to go to the pool.
