New Here..:-))with a few questions. Hello all......... . :) I have been lurking here for a bit.. GREAT Board..:-) Sooooooo Informative and friendly... I am owned my a 5 month old Yorkie girl named Daisy Mae........ a black lab mix girl named Keita......... 4 parrots.. Cockatiel.(Cutie). Quaker..(Boomer) Electus.. (Sami) and a Blue and gold Macaw (Sydney)).. and 2 cats..(Boots and Bandit)......... I also have 3 human children and One husband..lol.. I am looking to possibly get another yorkie girl to add to my loving family.(Daisy desperatly needs a playmate.. Plus.. while I am in Puppy mode over here.. I thought it might be easier to add another.?. while I am training her... I came across this website/breeder..www.yorkiepup.com and fell in love with one of their babies............. I wondered if anyone has purchased from them?.. I purchased my baby girl from a pet store......... before I knew of the puppy mills.... :( .... and how terrible they are.. I learned all about that from here......... I LOVE her dearly and do not regret getting her.. but if I learned what I know now.. I would not have even entered that pet store.. But.. fate has it.. that she was meant to be with me.. She is a doll.......... so well behaved.. and fits right into our crazy home..lol.. Please.. if anyone has any information about that site.. please let me know?.. I am so afraid of scams.. and loosing money once its paid.. with no puppy in return...I have never ever had any animal I own shipped to me.. so that scares me too.,... I hope I posted this in the right section.. I wasn't sure where to post it.. I have to say hello to Joy!!!! :wavey: from Furbabyboutique..We have spoke several times and I have a few of her Wonderful creations.. and also Shana :wavey: from Tinkerbells closet.. Hi Laurie and welcome to YT.....You sound like you have a great family!! I have never purchased from this breeder but I have spoken to the owner, Jeff Dane on the phone and I have read his site and looked at the photos and description of his facility. I have nothing bad to say about him and one of the reasons is that a member here that I love and trust, Laura, got two babies from him, visited the kennel and raved about it. She loves her babies, had a litter and kept them all I think. I would PM Laura for more info if I were you. There are people on here who will say they do not like this breeder for many reasons and they will even tell you that in their opinion he is a puppymill due to the sheer numbers of yorkies he has and the prices he charges. They will also tell you that there are bad stories about him on the internet. He has sold a lot of dogs and people who don't know any better and want someone to blame will blame breeders for some things that are not their fault. I think you will find negative stories and you should research him and talk to him and judge for yourself. JMHO Good luck. |
Hi! Welcome, its so nice to have you join us. Wow! you must have a lot of fun at home with all those companions. I am sure your are showered with love. As for yorkiepup, If you decide to purchase from that site I sincerely think you will regret it. They are mass breeders and from what I've heard (horror stories) they don't stand behind their puppies when they are sick. I don't think they would steel your money but as far as quality companion goes that sure ain't the place to look for one. I really think you would be better of looking elsewhere. I read a story online of someone who bought a pup from there it got sick she contacted Jeff dane the owner and he prescribed cough syrup and said the pup would get better, long story short, the pup died this lady contacted him (Jeff Dane) and he never answered phone calls and when she was able to get a hold of him he was very abrupt. Welcome again and I sure hope this helps in making a decision. :animal36 |
Hello and welcome to YT. The website you listed has been discussed here and people have some very strong feelings about it. Maybe do a search - here and the rest of the web - on Jeff Dane and decide for yourself. Personally, I would not buy from him. I can't wait to see pictures. |
Hi Kim......... ((Thank you))) for your reponse.. I can't sleep tonight..(thinking about that baby..lol) so here I am waiting upon responses..........lol. I emailed the owner several times tonight.. and recieved quick responses each and every time.......... I so appreciate your help.. and info about it all......... I guess I should put a post out for a *Laura*.. is this correct?.. she purchased her babies from there?.. (Thank you again) I LOVE reading on here and hearing all about everyones furbabies......... Thank for the welcome.. :) Laurie |
Thanks Erin.. :) I will do a search on the internet.. I appreciate yout thoughts.......... :) Thanks for the welcome.. :) Laurie |

 Try maybe www.puppyfind.com and speak individually to anyone who has a puppy you may like. Here is the down fall though. There are very cute pictures of pups for sale at cheap prices and they are stolen pictures and these people just want to scam you. Anything from Africa or Cameroon you want to stay away from. It will show you where the person is located at the bottom of each ad. Good luck. maybe someone here can help you if you tell them what your looking for and what you budget is. |
Thanks.... I did look there.. but the whole site scared me..lol ..Not sure what to think?.. I am sooooooooo afraid to be scammed.. thanks for the idea though.. I would rather maybe be lead to a reputable breeder.. maybe from someone on here.. Laurie Quote:

I have never seen this site before, but I looked at all the pups available, and some of them were quite darling, but others did not look too good. I really didn't like that he had special deals, like he was knocking down the price to get rid of them easier. Usually when people care about there pups and where they end up going, they try their hardest to look for quality families, not the first person to offer them the money. I also did not like that he purposefully breeds t-cups, and says they come from champion lines, thats bull, most of them looked real sickly. Some of them were like 1 lb full grown, that is way to small!! to even be healthy, and then to ask for $7ooo for the pup is outrageous. I personally would buy from someone who doesn't mass produce, I mean how much attention do you think these pups are getting, and how much socialization is he offering them, he has way to many, to take care of them responsibly. I like breeders who know their dogs and let them live with them in their house, that in itself would be reassuring to me. Well thats just my 2 cents. Good luck with your search! |
Thank you for your post............ I did ask about why some were reduced.. and it was said that they are expecting more.. so thats why.. I know.. some were so adorable.. others looked sad.... Thanks.. I hope the right puppy comes along.. Daisy did.. but she was from a pet store.. :( I really do not want ot go that route again.. Althouh.. if I didn't walk in there that day.. she would not be mine,, :) :) Laurie Quote:

My suggestion would be to find a local breeder, go visit their house, see the parents of the puppies, what kind of environment they live in, How well socialized the pups are... then you know more and will feel good about it. check www.breeders.net and type in your zip code.... Happy Hunting |
Thanks tyou for your suggestion............ I did go to Breeders.net... There seems to be a few breeders.. but they look like Pet shop type places.. Not home raised pups.. I will keep searching.. Laurie Quote:

I don't really know anything, but I just want to add a note about our experience with breeders. The last several dogs that we and my parents have had have come from hobby breeders and they have been the BEST. The puppies have been older than those offered by some of the professional breeders in the areas we've lived (Tulsa and now northwest Arkansas) and raised in home environments. The home environment has made a HUGE difference. The puppies have not been shy and didn't hide or quiver. They've been confident, playful, happy, and eager and ready to bond with a person. Obviously, the professional breeders we looked at weren't the greatest. One of them was really a small puppy mill. I know a really GOOD professional breeder is a whole different story, but we just couldn't pay those prices. The hobby breeders gave us access to better puppies than we could otherwise afford. One breeder gave us a discount partly because we bought two litter mates and partly because she really liked us and she didn't like some of the other people who'd looked at her dogs. |
Thanks you for your reply.............. I was fortunate to have found such a great puppy with Daisy.. Coming from a pet store and all........... She is eager to learn.. has been potty training wonderful.. is not shy and never quivers...Shes wonderful.. I have a house full of animals.. (scary noises at time..lol) so.. I was worried.......... But I will not take that chance again....Its like she has been with us from day one.. I wish I could find a hobby type breeder.. Some prices are out of my range right now too........ unfortunatley :( I hope the right puppy will come along.... Thanks again for your input.. Laurie Quote:

Hi and welcome to yorkie talk. Shooter dog has a great site of a List of breeders around the world. She has a profile on each breeder. All you do is click on the map for the area you live and find a breeder in your area. http://www.shooterdog.com/breeders.htm His web site is cute too. They have yorkie horoscopes which are actually kinda funny. Good Luck on your puppy search. |

Can I ask what pet store you got Daisy from because I seem to recall there are few people on here from NY who got puppies from a store in Manhatten that doesn't get there's from puppymills. I can't remember th name off the top of my head. These were healthy dogs with good temperaments. I would never buy from a pet store who gets their pups frm a puppymill but there are a few pet stores out there that don't. Don't worry. You came to the right place and you will not get scammed if you read and research and find a good breedeer which is what it sounds like you are doing. Puppyfind.come isn't bad if you talk to the breeder a lot and talk to their vet and when you think you have found the puppy you want use a puppy escrow if it is being shipped. There are mostly small hobby breeders on there. You have to screen carefully to weed out the bad but my experience has been that there are more good breeders than bad and the bad are easy to spot if you are educated. Good luck! Good luck! |

Quality Canine 2434 Stillwell Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11214 (718) 946-7014 When you get there, ask for Ivan. He owns the building and lives in the apartment above his store. At night, he takes the dogs upstairs to sleep with him. His dogs are NOT puppymills. They all come from local breeders and he himself even breeds some Maltese and Yorkies. He really loves his dogs and it's evident by how clean and happy they are. Ivan is an all around nice guy. He and his wife, Cathy (who recently passed away), started breeding years ago and have thrived at it. So I hope you'll check them out -- you won't be disappointed. If you need ANY help at all, please feel free to PM me. |
Hi And Welcome! I can't help you with the Breeder in Question. But I do feel that you would be better off finding a Breeder close to your home. I'm sure a lot of puppies have been shipped to their new homes, and did just fine. But it's a lot of stress on them. You said you fell in love with one of the puppies, I have to tell you, once I take a look at their picture, I fall for all of them. I'm sure if you went to a Breeder, and held one, you would fall in love all over again. Good luck to you, I'm sure there's a baby out there waiting to be loved! Again, Welcome! |
[QUOTE=Prissy012899]My thoughts exactly. My suggestion would be to find a local breeder, go visit their house, see the parents of the puppies, what kind of environment they live in, How well socialized the pups are... then you know more and will feel good about it.QUOTE] I totally agree with this. If your scared of scams and shipping then i would also suggest you find a local breeder (It's not that hard). I got my Yorkie's from different breeders because i wasn't impressed with the way my first breeder treated me (plus she lived 5 hours away so i didn't have time to visit). My second breeder is amazing and only a 45 min drive away. I go and see Bella (my new addition as of Oct 21st) weekly, so when i pick her up to come home for the first time she will know me and be a little less stressed out. That's also a plus with finding a local breeder because you can visit your pup usually whenever you want, your more re-ashured with the whole purchasing and money thing and you become more comfortable with your breeder because you can put a name to the face. Good Luck. |
Yes....... :) . you are right.. I would fall in love again and again.. Its just one little face *spoke* to me?.. sounds weird I know.. but I too.......... would prefer to be able to get my puppy in person.. Thanks for the post.. :) and the welcome Laurie QUOTE=mustangbee]Hi And Welcome! I can't help you with the Breeder in Question. Yes, I think Quality Canines is the place I was thinking of. JCarlson mentioned it in her post. It is a pet store and they are brokers I think but that is not always bad, just usually.... :) It is worth a look. |

yorkiepup.com All I have read here so far about yorkiepup.com is hear say, I searched Google and there was one guy named Ben from 1 year ago that was bad mouthing Jeff Dane, none of Ben's emails or contact infomation worked when I tried to ask him a quesion, how can his statements be confirmed, can any of what you are saying on this board be confirmed? Is there anyone on this Yorkietalk board willing to state any of this slander against Jeff Dane in court? I would think if he is and his business were as bad as I'm reading here he would be barred from the AKC,,,, he is not (I see AKC pups listed on his site along with ACA), he would have complaints at the Better Business bureau?,,, I checked he has none that I can find, and if like I read here where he sells hundreds of pups every year and only has ghost figures writing messages on the Internet web sites complaining about him,,, not a one could I contact back, NOT ONE! Why is Google quoted so much here, where is the fact?,,, Where is the hatrid coming from? Bad news travels like wildfire, good news gets over looked. Look at the Iraq war. My mom and a few on this board rave about yorkiepup.com but that seems not interesting enough to talk about here. This board wants to bash, and bash. I find that very imature. The word Teacup,,,, my God, please grow up. There will come a day on the Internet where you can't stay hidden behind a screen name and you will have to back up slanderous statements made against businesses. If you feel you are right with your statements against some breeders like yorkiepup.com I have read about on these boards, list your name and contact information for the public to see. You writers making these remarks all know where you would end up,,,, in court. My 2 cents, I'd be careful who you slander, or you had better have proof, concrete proof. Virginia |

Not going to get into the teacup business with you. i don't have to. I know what a yorkshire terrier is. |
