I live in a small town so it is the police who pick up stray dogs. I just found out that the vet clinic that they take the dogs to only keeps them 3 days before they PTS.:(:(:( I asked if they thought I could go pick up the dogs and take them to a shelter about 30 minutes away, and I was told that they didn't think that the vet would agree because the city pays them money to PTS the dog. I was and am quite upset about the deal. I am going to go, though, and check into it myself. I won't even us this vet because he is so mean to small animals. ~Joanne~

Wow, that so hard to understand, three days seems like such a short time. Good for you for checking this out, I hope you can persuade the vet to allow you to take them to the shelter, if not, maybe there's more we can do.

That is very sad. Do they post these pups on Petfinder or Petharbor or in the local paper so that the owners might see?

Once again, like so many things in life today, it is all about money, the vet gets PAID TO PUT THEM TO SLEEP. so what insentive would they have to allow them to be found homes, for a vet not to care, I wouldn\'t want him to treat a flea let alone my Yorkie !!!!!
