Cute/Funny quirks your Yorkie's have/ I'm getting my first Yorkie soon, and I thought it might be fun to post all the quirky, cute, funny or even downright strange habits our yorkies have! They are like people with their own emotions and feelings so I'm sure each doggie has a very different personality. |
When Ella is getting comfy in her kennel for bedtime, she growls. I think she gets frustrated at her blankets, because she is digging around while she growls. Its so funny. It lasts up to five minutes and then she just plops down. Silly girl. |
Uni's got tons. Here's a thread from a few weeks back, there are lots of cute stories. :) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...al-quirks.html |
Riley While Riley is still staying with my sister, until I move at the end of the month, she says he's started something a bit weird with their mini dachsund, who is 7 yrs old. Riley is 3. Once they've gotten up in the morning, and often during the days, Riley will walk up to Oscar and lick him on the top of his head, then go off and play. I haven't seen this yet, but I sure would love to. My sister's been trying to capture it on film for me, but Riley is too quick. She says Oscar the dachsund is bewildered by this, and just stares at Riley as he walks away. Apparently, Oscar's expression is priceless each time. |

Gypsy goes to her food bowl which is left out for the dogs at all time. It is one of those you pour the the food into a canister and it pours out some at a time into a bowl. She will either push the food back up into the canister as much as she can or hide it with paper she finds in the floor. Often shredding the paper to fit the bowl. She will also act like she is taking one piece of a time out of the bowl and lay it to the side of the bowl. Most of the time she is not actually taking anything out, just acting like it. My dtr says she is crazy. |

When Couver gets excited, he does the shuffle... he kinda scratches and kicks both his back legs and does a little growl. It's cute. |
Sophie goes out the back (sliding) door when she needs to do her business. So when she REALLY needs to go, she runs around the dining room table several times before standing infront of the door. She also will make strange noises likes she is talking to us if she really wants something, and we don't move fast enough for her.:) |

Both Azrael and Razael go down on their elbows with butt in the air each time I say "I'm going to beat the butt". hehe. I always have them sit before putting their meal down. Each time I say sit to Razael, she makes a Scooby-Doo type of moan before sitting. It's funny, but odd. The thing I like, and I didn't teach them, is when I can't see Zada I ask Azrael or Razael to "go get Zada" and they do, if if they have to search the entire house, they don't give up. |

I though of another one!! When I am cleaning the kitchen and Peanut sees me and he hears the windex he will run under me and try to catch all the crumbs that fall on the floor!! :D |
Some more Ella Quirks! -If I have a rubber band on my wrist, Ella will try to get it off and then when I give it to her, she puts it on her own "wrist" and chews on it. - You know how babies throw their bottles or toys down and have their parents pick it up over and over again and the baby think's it hilarious? Well that's Ella with her bully stick - To chew on her bully stick, she MUST hang it over the edge of something, particularlly the edge of the couch (see previous quirk...) She refuses to lay in the CENTER of anything to chew her bully. - If she is at the door I ask her if she wants to go potty and if she needs to, she jumps and throws her head and her front paws towards the door, hard to explain. If I ask and she doesn't do that, it means she just wants to go out and play - Every morning when I take her outside right after she wakes up, she shakes so hard that she makes herself fall over. Cracks me up everytime.... |
