| I'm not much help as I have five. I have told mh DH that I won't look for anymore, however if one just happened to land in my lap, I'd have to keep it. If you don't take him, could you drop ship him to me? ![]() ![]()

| He's cute. ![]() I agree with LadyJane though. If you can afford it and everyone is happy, great, do it. But on the other hand, what if two or three get sick at the same time and you end up with a hospital bill of a couple grand? Or one of them needs LP surgery. Or one of them is diagnosed with liver shunt? Most people wouldn't be able to afford it. And then there is the time and energy if one is diagnosed with an illness that has to be medically managed. I'll tell ya, we would have never guessed that Ellie would be diagnosed with liver, pancreas, gastrointestinal, periodontal, knee (mild LP), and allergy problems all in less than 3 years! She is worth the time it takes to take care of her, but it is a lot of work and not just time-wise. At the moment she is getting 7 doses of drugs and supplements a day, her food has to be homecooked, and I'm in constant contact with her vet until we can get her allergies under control. Besides that, now she is regurgitating and may have a problem with her esophagus. This may lead to the need to be scoped and I have no idea where the money is coming from. And this is just one little dog. I can't imagine taking care of 6 others beides her. Anyways, my two cents.

| If you have the funds to support another go for it. But take into account if there was a job loss if you would still be okay to support them. If all is good in the bank I say go for it, whats just one more I'd LOVE LOVE to have a second yorkie but I know I can't afford another one just yet. lol |

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | OK my two cents, I have nine now and hope to keep a Biewer girl when my Darla has puppies. I keep 3,000.00 in my dog account at all times and have a credit card with 12,000.00 available credit line. I use it once a month to buy puppy pads and pay it off. BUT if my babies needed medical care they would get it as anyone who know me can attest to. I say if you can care for them and love them and give each one special attention go for it! I work from home and my hubby is retired. I'll bet my fur kids get more of everything than lots of skin babies. Oh I also home cook and never give store bought food or treats. Oh one is almost blind (papillion 10 YRS old) and one has Cushings too. I'm just thankful I don't need to start a collage fund for each of them.

| One thing to keep in mind with bringing in another dog from the outside is personalities. If all your dogs are mellow and never fight it should not be a problem but from my experience, when you get a pack of dogs together sometimes some of them won't get along and that can disrupt the whole household. Is the boy neutered? Don't be fooled by a cute face, ask lots of questions about his personality and if he has any bad habits. If you have other males then it could be a problem. Best of luck to you. |

| No, this boy is not neutered; all of my babies are neutered or spayed. She tells me he is a little ball of energy, never still. I've got 6 now, so I have some entergetic, some not. I did worry about bringing home an unaltered male with a house full of babies already "fixed". I've not heard from her today, so I don't know. She said she'd let me know if there were any serious inquiries.

| I have 6 and have never had a real problem. My female Lola thinks she is a police officer and if she wants you to stop running she will let you know. Other than that its great. |

| I don't know, honestly, I don't think I could own 6. I love love love dogs and if I had some sort of a big facility to keep them all I would. But as pets living in my home 24/7, I think I'd go crazy. I feel like I wouldn't be able to devote enough time to each of them and think that w/ owning multiple dogs, you really truly need to define yourself as their leader or it's going to be chaos. I also believe in dogs having socialization with other dogs besides their own "pack members" and it wouldn't physically be possible to bring 6 dogs with me to the dog park or for a walk (unless you do it separately). So, me personally, I would opt not to add another one for those reasons as well as financial. I enjoy so much bringing Jackson to my family and friends homes, or for play-dates with other people and their dogs, or to dog parks, and think he really enjoys it too. It wouldn't be the same with 6 or 7 dogs. I know over at my dad's house, they have two small dogs and when I bring Jackson over, it makes three, and it turns into chaos at times. Their dogs aren't that well trained so their energy totally reflects on Jackson and he turns into a completely different dog! But if I did have the space, money and time, I would love to have a dog "farm!" LOL. Like Cesar Millan's pack His center is awesome. But as a general person living in a home, no, I wouldn't take on that many dogs as much as I love them. I spend enough money on one! :P I think fostering is a great and wonderful idea because you're helping out a dog in need. Most people are more wiling to adopt a dog who has been house trained and socialized a bit and taught how to live in a home. Personally speaking, I think 3 is the highest number I could own at a time.

| I feel like such a pansy! I only have and I continually worry about thewhat if's! Having gone through so much getting Buddy to where he is now I am thinking about a sister for him and a little girl for me. THINKING ![]() I think I annalize things to death at times. My hat is off to all you ladies with your furbaby families. The furbabies are so lucky you found them and vise versa. If I didn't have to work, if I didn't have to walk them in the snow and ice, If I didn't have to worry about the baking when I'm not home, what if they don't get along, what if she's aggressive, what if she toy guards, what if she's not healthy, if, if ,if. Will the if's every leave? ![]() I hope they do one day. I guess that means I'm just not ready yet. This time I want it perfect or as perfect as I can get it. Enjoyed reading all your stories. |

| No, your not a "pansy"! LOL I've got the 6 now, and I worry about the ifs all day long. I work, and DH is sorta semi-retired, so he's in & out all day. But, its constant worry; that's why I'm stressing over getting #7. Actually, after reading all the posts, I'm just about talked my self out of it. Like a previous poster said, it's impossible to anywhere with all 6!
