How important are AKC Papers to you? I was just wondering How important are AKC Papers to you? I have three babies. Mandy our Rottie and Princess our Yorkie are both AKC Papered. Poncho our Chihuahua is not. When I was sick my kids took my husband over to this ladys house who had puppies for sale. Yes, she was a back yard breeder. My kids thought if they brought home a puppy he would make me well. Anyway, Poncho was the last one there, and my husband said there was no way he was leaving without him. I really don't think it would make any difference if Mandy or Princess were'nt pappered. I'd love them just the same. I have heard some people say they must have the papers. Why is that, if your not going to Breed? Hope you all have a wonderful day! :) |
To me papers aren't that important unless you are breeding. My guy has papers but I'm not breeding him. Although I do like having them because its just a way of saying that he is a full yorkie and doesn't have something else thrown in there that a BYB won't tell you about. |
I didn't care either way,,, I searched and searched for a Yorkie, when I finally found Bailey they said papers were never sent in on the dad,, cause they didnt care,, So that was the last thing on my mind when I saw the puppies. I was just happy to finally have found my baby! :D |
I could care less about papers :) |
My baby is ACA registered I think this is a good registry. However papers aren't all that relevant to me. I do think AKC is the best cenario when it comes to papers , but do keep in mind I have seen just as bad quality pets with AKC papers as with some of the lower ranking registries. Papers are really only good if you are breeding and to provide tracking for your pet within a particular registry. |
Registration papers are very important to me . Even if a future parents don't want them , all the pups are registered and they have a must spay - neuter contract . |

I would want to know that the parents are registered with AKC or CKC, just to make sure that I am getting a "purebred yorkie" since I would be paying/buying for one. So I would want the parents to be registered. However, I am not going to file the papers myself on Millie, because, I am not breeding and there is no point. (that I can see). |
I filed for papers on Chewy just because a lot of folks don't believe he's a pure-bred yorkie. ;) |
i dont care if they have paper brownie has his and theres nothing i can do with them kayko and austin dont i dont plan on breeding or showing so i dont need them |
it really does not matter if they have papers to me. As long as they are healthy and come with vet records, proof of shots and what not. My search for a red yorkie doesn't have to have papers, just as long as she is healthy! I'm not looking to breed I just want pets who are taken in as part of the Family! |

They were important to me cause I got to see my dogs ancestry. |
I dont have papers for Kelsey...maybe I should...but that is a whole different story. If I only knew then what I know now.... |
How does the AKC know your dog is full bred? I mean are they coming to your home or doing DNA testing on your dog? You can lie and make up a father or mother for your puppies. I just don't think the AKC is all that reliable either to prove you puppies are pure if this is the case. |
