Seriously? Ok so just about every time we go out somebody asks us if Callie is a boy or girl, Callie has on a pink collar with a pink heart tag on it, a pink harness, and a pink leash I cant help but think seriously? I always say girl and just kinda laugh to myself as I walk away. Then there was the time Callie had a pink dress on and had the other stuff on as well and someone asked if she was a boy or girl and I wanted to look at them with a straight face and say definitely a boy. Oh my it just drives me crazy sometimes like people dont pay attention to things. Anyone else have things of the obvious people ask you about your baby that drive you crazy? |
Really???????????? |
My biggest bug is when someone walks up and without asking and trys to touch any of my dogs. I have some that it is not a concern at all and I am happy to share. I have a couple that on a bad day will make you life very uncomfortable. Ask to touch just ask. I may say no but I may say yes please. The other one is- is that a lad oddle...yeah moron I am at a dog show showing a mutt, no go find a brain. JL |

One thing that make me think "are you kidding me"? Is when someone walks up and tries to takes Shay out of my arms...literally starts to pick him right up out of my arms!!! I know he is as cute as a button....but would you hand your child over to a complete stranger???? |
Don't feel bad when my daughter was born she had a pink stroller, pink blanket, and earrings and people used to ask the same question. Why??? I did the same thing and say no a boy and walk away.;) |
Misty has the same problem, we were in Wal-Mart and I get asked if my dog is a girl. Drives me crazy. As to them touching her, when she's wearing her Service Dog vest, no one should touch her. Some of the little kids don't know that they shouldn't but they ususally ask. What gets me is the adults coming up and petting her. Excuse me, she has her Service Dog vest on and is not there for you to just go and pet her. Then they have the nerve to complain when she starts growling and showing her teeth. I just don't understand. |
Try this one. I am walking my 3 and someone says oh how cute triplets. 2 are boys with full tails and one weighs 8lbs and the other 11 lbs My little girl is 5 lbs dark in color and has a docked tail. So when did they become triplets. I have had people say that my boys are really cute girls when I am holding them and you can clearly see their winkies. Some people just aren't very observant. |

:eek:If that lady had done that to my Motley she would b in a world of hurt. He is aggressive towards strangers(which is why I hold him very tight and do not take him into large crowds. When strangers do walk up to him I always give them a very understandable warning of Please be careful he bites. Even after that people just laugh and reach for him anyway saying he's so little and cute he won't bite me:confused: That's why I always teach my kids to ask the owner before even approaching a strange dog. There is no way of knowing just by looking if an animal is aggressive. Just because Motley is small I think he would definately teach someone a lesson if they approached him and started hugging and kissing him/ |
but what if you were a gay man who wanted to dress up your man in a pink! pink is the new black! or better yet! a metrosexual who was in with the times! fashion! hello fashion! *snap* Seriously. I don't know. You'd have be a gay man or a metrosexual to pull it off. A straight woman dressing her men in pink? I don't see it. |
My DIL and niece-in-law were just complaining about people calling their boys little girls this past week when they were here. They are pretty boys (1 and 2 years old) but I would not think anyone would mistake them for girls. I think some people have pre-conceived ideas -- maybe because they have one or the other themselves. I know I had a hard time gettiung used to calling Ben a boy as I had always had female dogs before him. Now that I have both Ben and Rocky, poor Candy gets called one of the boys too. I am much worse with names. When all 3 of my sons are here, I never get their names right first go around. They think this is just part of their crazy mother. ;) So, what I am beating around the bush about is -- don't take it personal! You know you have an adorable girl (or boy -- depending on who is reading this). Enjoy them -- that goes for pets or human kids! Anyone calling them the wrong sex is probably hitting themself upside the head and muttering "doh!" when they think of what they did. Everyone calls my Ben a girl because I keep his hair floor length and he is "pretty." I just laugh and say "I know he is pretty enough to be a girl, but he is all boy and ornery as can be!" When I still had Sadie, everyone assumed she was the male as she had shorter hair and was larger than Ben. I guess it is just a natural assumption because most people thought that. Again, I did not get offended, even when she had something pink on. I just would explain that she was the girl, just a big girl -- like me :) |
When I walk Twinkle and Wicket people generally assume they are both girls. and tell me how pretty the are :) If I say they are a boy and girl I normally get the whole 'do you/are you going to breed them' comments so now I just say 'thankyou' and smile, then tell Wicket how manly he is once I'm out of earshot! When we had Kaddie (RIP) people always said 'him' or 'what a gorgeous boy' and most of the time I didn't worry about correcting them. As long as people are complimenting my babies then I'm happy :) xxx |
