Need help with getting our Domino home
 
Hi all- I haven't been on here for a while but I thought of it first because we have an emergency. My daughter and son-in-law took our Yorkie Domino last Jan. when they moved to Missouri. Now my son-in-law has lost his job in the Air Force and they are moving into an apt. and can't take Domino. My wife and I can't afford to fly him back home to Florida. Can anyone help that might be coming from Missouri to Florida or even Georgia? We could meet anywhere in North FL or South GA. Domino is a 12 lb Silver Yorkie. He is about 8 yrs. old and according to our daughter is losing his sight. We don't want them to do something like give him away or worse. Please call or email if you can help. I am not a believer of cargo for our little ones but in this case it is better than the alternatives for your dog. Please call your airlines and see what it would cost to ship...it could be a lot less than what you are paying in gas. Please at least call and see what the airlines say.

I live in Texas. Anyone coming this way from Missouri and I take to Louisiana. Lets form a train and help these people get their Domino Back...

I would totally be willing to help out, I live in KY (which I think is way out of the way though).

I hope we can get a train to get Domino to his home. :)

Thank you to all who have viewed this. We really appreciate the help. It doesn't matter which way he comes, either through TX or KY. If we can get him to Georgia, I can take off a day and get him about anywhere there. Bless you all for your kindness.

Dogs or cats can travel in the cabin, as checked luggage or unaccompanied as cargo. For other pets, you need to contact United reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1. There is a cost of $85 each way Check out this price. You cant beat this. I called but they want to know what part of Florida? Please call and ask to speak to an agent. Let me know..Lissette

Thanks all for the advice. I called all the major airlines. They won't take him because he is flying alone and would be cargo not carry on. He has breathing problems and they won't take a pet with any vet documented problems. I'm not giving up. If anyone has any other ideas I'm listening. My wife is really scared about my daughter giving him to a stranger. I've even contacted some rescue organizations to see if they could foster him until we could get to him.

I plan on being in the St. Lois area either at Thanksgiving or Christmas.... He could ride back to Beaumont, TX with me....

What health problems does he have? Is he current on his vaccinations? What part of Missouri is he in? I live in Tulsa, OK and would be willing to foster him for a short time if he's immunized and if we can get him here from Missouri. I'm a member of a rescue group but I generally do not foster because I have so many of my own. All of mine are yorkies and usually do alright with other small dogs. Let me know if I can help.

An update. I just spoke to my daughter and they may be able to keep him in the apt. until Thanksgiving. If they let her then I may be able to get enough time off to get to Tennessee and get him. They might be able to meet me there. I'll keep you informed over the next day or 2. They should know by then. As the previous poster said what a great group. Yorkie lovers are a special breed!

I am in Canada and to far to help but my hubby gives me a yorkie allowance for my baby and I would be happy to donate for gas it's not much but I am willing pm me if this is needed. And wow my faith in mankind has been restored all you all are so great and really willing to help this makes my heart warm inside

so glad i came across this post it has restored my faith in mankind ;) just yesterday i read a post of the mother of a sick child being taken by a shafty breeder this really warms my heart want to give everyone on this post a round of applause :D lets keep this going want to hear about dominos journey home too bad he cant fly i ship cargo free on continential as my hubby works for them if a donation starts up count me in in in:D

I would like to know if we have any Flight Attendants on YT that might be able to help Domino reunite with his Mom and Dad? Or someone with frequent flyer mileage that would be willing to get Domino.

I wanted to update on what is happening with Domino. My daughter found a family to temporarily foster him until we can get him, which hopefully will be at Thanksgiving. Thank you all so much for all the offers of help for our baby. My wife and I really can't believe how caring everyone on YT is. You are the best! God Bless.
