"They should probably have a human child if they have so much time to spend kissing a dogs BUTT". Huh, kissing a dogs butt??? Let's see, I have children, I have grandchildren, and I have a child I have adopted. My 4 legged babies, are just that. MY babies. I don't have dogs. I would do anything for my babies, just like I would my children, and grandchildren. BUT what about some people that were not as fortunate as I have been to be able to have children? I do have a neice that is unable to have children, and so her babies are her 4 legged ones. I think what you might need to do is think, before you write. Someone could have a disability, and their 4 legged babie, is just that. Their whole life, and like their child. Think before you write. The weird one, Darlene |

I have owned my first yorkie baby (Harley) since Feb, or should I say he has owned me. I have definately become a victim of yorkie baby love. The list applies to me as well. I have grown children, and grandchildren, but I am home all day while my husband travels for is job, and my baby is my heart. I get so upset when people refer to him as a "rat". He loves me and the feeling is mutual. He is like my child not a dog and I would do anything for him. He goes with me wherever I go unless it is to a restraunt or grocery store. And I would not have it any other way!!! CHRISTY-MOMMY OF HARLEY:aimeeyork |
Ditto! I fully understand. :D |

i'm a newly wed woman and i don't want to have children for awhile and my yorkie IS my child. she is the perfect thing for my husband and i to use as training for our human children someday. yorkies need to be treated and raised just like a human baby. when they are little they NEED us to check on them at night especially when they are under 6 months because if something happened they could be gone before we knew it. and yes they should be spoiled and loved the same as a human baby because to a lot of us on here they take the place of a human baby in our lives and we are quite happy treating them just as such!! |

:confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused::confused::confused: No one is doubting you love your dog, why would they? No we didn't like your statement, were you really that surprized ?No one has called you a bad owner. I believe this the point you got uptight about. 2. You will get up during the night not because you have to , because you want to. Well if that doesn't apply to you then why worry about it. Those were MY personal experiences , YTers didn't need to post back if they did not want to. It didn't require answers but it was real nice that people did.As being attacked as you put it , did you not feel you were attacking me by calling me weird , (yep , im yorkie mad) saying I should have a human child( got 2) and kissing dogs butts ( havn't tried that yet but wipe it a lot) So can you see why people could get upset? Of course we want your opinion but as you have said "maybe I used the wrong wording" Yep no doubt about it you did. If you see people being attacked as you put it by others for using the wrong wording why didn't YOU think more carefully how YOU worded your opinon? Anyway learn from it and move on although an apology would be nice.:p |
This is me in a nutshell. |
What a great list! :D I have two skin children as well as two yorkies.....there are so many similarities: 1. They all rely on me to keep them safe, fed, warm. 2. I think of their needs before my own. 3. Holidays and trips out revolve around them. 4. I spend money on them before myself. 5. They all make a mess! 6. Cuddles and kisses from any of them will make my day! Being a mummy (or dadddy!) to a child of skin or fur is the most rewarding experience in the world xxx |
Oh, you are right on that. They all depend on us for food, shelter, love, and warmth. :goodpost: :goodpost: |
Very true especially # 6 |
heehee, yorkie mad, i wipe mine's butt a lot tooo!:D |

I fit everyone of those original points about owning a yorkie. And I do have 'human children', 3 to be specific. I have 18 and 14 year old daughters, and a 16 year old son. I also have a 4 year old 'youngest daughter', Diva, that just happens to have way more hair than the oldest 3. (She just happens to also be a yorkie.) I am not ashamed to love my dog as much as she loves me. Diva literally thinks I hung the moon and does not have any of the attitude problems that my teenage children occasionally have. She loves unconditionally, never leaves me home alone to hang out with her friends, never needs money for this activity and that, never borrows my car and forgets to put gas back in it, etc. My children love her as much as I do and also treat her like a human. My big, strong testosterone driven 16 year old son would fight someone that tried to hurt her. My girls are currently trying to convince me to keep her 3 puppies, insisting that 4 yorkies are not too much. You are entitled to feel however you want to about your dog, but do not judge others unless you have walked in their shoes. I hope that the love that your sweet little yorkie shows you will eventually warm your heart and change your thoughts on this. |

didnt you see the post that i replied to?? she did imply that i dont care for my dog and that maybe he should be re-homed. I didnt say YOU were wierd, i said IT was weird to do such things, i said that i agreed on some of your points too. i have a 1 year old baby and i thaught that one line about waking up in the night to check the dog was something i would do for her, not the animal. i most certainly did not attack you, i made a general statement and didnt direct it twards anyone in particular. - im not that kind of person, but ALOT of YT'rs ARE, i see it all the time. im not going to walk around on eggshells worrying if my opinion makes someone else angry, thats ridiculous, and not fair. i stated my clear and honest opinion. maybe i dont concider my dog a human like some do - but thats okay, i dont have to! he still has a great home and lots of love. like i said i worded it wrong. theres your apology right there. so why dont we drop this? |
