Ear tipping is when they shave the top 1/3 of their ears. I thini it is a standard for yorkies. It looks good!

well i'm not taking him... LOL!! after all that! but thank you for all the advice (: i called and the lady said $40... sorry... i'll learn to do it myself!!!! :o

Well at least you made a decision lol I cut Tia myself . I don't shave her just trim her all over. Like I said before ,it gets cold here.

Truth is $20-35 is a steal.
Down here in miami grooming goes for 50&up.

Hope you learn to do it yourself though :).

I live in NC as well and yes,that price is a very average fee. I pay $20.00 just for a sanitary clip with no shampoo for my boy. I pay $38.00 for a full clipping with shampoo for my oldest female. Then you need to remember the tip which I give $5.00 per dog. I have thought of learning to do this also... I was a beautician for many years and yet I am scared to clip my dog LOL Crazy I know!!!

I spend $40-$45 on Maddie's cuts. I have an excellent groomer though so I don't mind. I usually trim her up myself, but each summer we get a shorter cut.

I know some have had good experiences at PetSmart groomers, but ours was HORRIBLE! I still think she was given something. She was very lethargic for a day or two after. I was also chewed out b/c she was considered 'difficult'. She only weighed 5-6 lbs at the time.

I hope you learn do groom yourself or find one you trust.:thumbup::D

yea i guess that price was normal but i figure why pay that much for something i can learn to do myself... i'm not in that much of a rush!!!

I've always had to pay $50 around here to get Jackson groomed. I got so many estimates. All the mobile groomers were around $80! :rolleyes: I got Jackson shaved for the summer in June and she left the head/tail long-ish. I liked it and he LOVED it during the hot summer weather. He was also uneven from his mommy (aka me!) trying to cut him. I've gotten a LOT better though! So he's not going to the groomer as often. I think I'm just going to take him once every 6 months or so now for a professional clean up. Saves me soooo much money in the long run but it's always different when the professionals do it....

This was him shaved, but head kept long... and seriously within 2 weeks, the hair on the back had already gotten longer.
