I'm poor, but I would try to make it...where ever it may be. Chicago is good. And it has good shopping (for those that would still be able to afford to shop after an airplane ticket :)) and good public transportation. JMO Hannah |
If we post it far enough in advance for people to book cheap airfare the diehard yorkie adicts would be there I think. Airfare is pretty cheap these days really compared to gas!! I am even thinking maybe we could get some dog food companies to help sponsor it or something or make it a fundraiser to suppport Millbusters or something like that..... I think we should plan fairly big and book a hotel and a ballroom where we could have the vendors come and sell their stuff and pay a small fee to do it. We could have contests like best dressed, cutest, coutest couple, oldest yorkie, smallest yorkie, biggest yorkie...i don't know....a big dress up dinner Saturday night like Fur ball and we could charge a small fee for attendees to go toward the expenses. We could have speakers from our membership like the Biewer owners, the breeders, the groomers, the show people, etc. I could talk on service dogs. I just am thinking a big weekend!!!! Am I being too out there with this? We have over 200 regulars and we are all addicts so who would come??? |
i'd do it. if i could manage to talk my mom into it....everyone PM her as fast as you can, lol. |

My vote is Belgium!! :D It's nice and cool, public transportation is awesome, and all hotels and restaurants are doggie friendly.... :p Germany would be ok too! That's just right down the road! LOL Brooke |

I like the idea of a Texas or a Washington or some other location with a lot of YT members already there, making the chances of a large meet better. |
Come to Skagen Denmark - we have lots of room and yorkies are allowed! :D Seriously, I don't know hoe long it would take to fly from Denmark to USA, but taking the girls on a 6 hour flight wouldn't be a problem for me. The problem for me right now is 2 things: - getting the girls rabies shots - can't happen until march - money - I just started a new buisiness and my husband is expanding, so we're investing all our money into that. But spring 2006 we should be good and a trip to the states is on my to-do-list anyway :) Maybe I should take a tour-de-yorkietalk with Thomas and the girls :) If you have the convention in a warm place, everyone can bring their tents and it would be cheaper and funnier :) |

If any of you haven't read any books by Yalom, I strongly recommend it. This is the best: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books Andrea: I hope you will love it as much as I do :) Do you yourself go through therapy to be a therapist in the states as we do in Denmark? (Sorry for hijacking the thread) |
Texas would be great. I would also suggest Phoenix, the weather is always sunny and nice. I read "The Gift of Therapy" for my Group Therapy Class and had to do a report. Good book. I went to grad school for Health Psychology. |
I like texas, ok, or Kansas |
