Has anyone ever heard of giving them a glob of Vaseline when they eat something they shouldn't? I over heard this lady at the park talking about how her dog ate something and she gave him Vaseline and he passed it with no problems. I thought that sounded strange, and wondered if it was even safe. |
good to know! Thanks! My boys have kongs, but they don't touch them ever.... not even with PB in them! |
Sorry to hear your graciehad such an ordeal with a toy!; I too had a bad experience with a kong product, which was the cream filler thing you squeeze into the rubber toys for added flavor and interest; I had bought that and the toy just days after getting my baby Chloe, and when I was getting ready to squeeze the cream filler thing into the toy, I realize that even though it was all sealed, it was completely ROTTEN!, I mean green and black, moldy and completely gross!. Imagine if you're not looking 100% at the substance (as with a new puppy you're constantly looking at THEM). I returned both the toy and the putrid cream thing. Kong toys are not her favorite at all; her fav. are the petstages which I've tugged at myself, testing how sturdy the stitching is for resistance sake. I try to give her rope-like toys, and other things that don't have too many sewn pieces, that way I know that if she's messing a lot with them, I can have peace of mind knowing that her playtime item isn't going to become a Nightmare!. Good luck, I hope she passes it "naturally"....I know the pain of vet bills too! XoXo, Meli & Chloe:) |
wow that is amazing im speechless i dont use kong i use the everlasting treat ball products in a medium gatsby can get the small in his mouth but not back out Everlasting Treat Ball : Combination Treat Ball & Dog Toy at Drs. Foster and Smith i have also heard of a toy called gonuts that has two layers a red and a green the green on top if the red ever shows they send you a new one free of charge GoughNut .75 the small one is ten to 20 pounds but for our heavy chewers it might be fine |
I think like anything, everything should only be given when the dogs are supervised. Also not all dogs will chew the actual Kong apart to bits. Sorry to hear abotu the big vet bill, but I am glad she will be ok. |
