Look at this - I just can't believe it!!
 

OMG, look at what I just got!! It's a sketch of my Becca done by Linda's husband Barney (Linda44).

I had seen where Barney had done a sketch of/for Linda's GE buddy and was amazed by his talent. I pm'd Linda to tell her how great Barney's work was, and I told her a little about my Becca. :angelyork

For most of Becca's 11 years with me, I did not own a camera. By the time I finally bought one, Becca was already very sick with cancer (although I didn't know it yet) and none of my pictures showed her the way she really was. I have only one very tiny photo of her that was given to me by a friend that really shows her personality and feisty spirit. :animal37

Saturday, this sketch arrived in the mail. Barney drew it from a photo of my one tiny picture. I can't begin to explain how much this drawing of my baby girl means to me. It's so beautiful, and it will be treasured forever. Oh, and they even had it framed and matted before they sent it to me! :thankyou2

lol reminds me of when my hippy unlce from reno painted Peanut on this little tin can box thing lol it looked like a half wearwolf have mouse!!! I didnt want to tell him I was like ohh thank you its so good!!! :D HAHA uhh yeah Its in the garage!!

Linda's husband is AH-MAZE-ING!!! He did a sketch of Ryder for the GE. When I opened it I burst into tears- it was beautiful, thoughtful and the most special gift I have ever received from anyone.

Your girl is beautiful, and once again, he outdid himself! Congrats!

That's exactly how I feel!

Because it's his hobby, Barney usually charges only a small fee to do sketches for people, and I would recommend him to anyone. It's worth the small amount to have something like this to treasure.

Thank you Bonnie. Just so you all know, and dont think we are saints over here in Napa sippin wine, Bonnie bought this sketch. Barney kind of picks and chooses which pics he wants to draw, and Bonnie's memories of Becca broke our hearts. Barney knew he had to try at least to do her sketch. Not that we havent gifted, in fact we hope that to be our trademark in the GE's. We are thrilled that Bonnie likes it and that it turned out so well. Bonnie.....both of us thank you for your sweet compliments and hope it brings joy, love and peace to you.

Linda, thank you for clarifying this. I apologize for giving the wrong impression - I was so busy being excited over the sketch that I didn't make it clear that the sketch was purchased. I knew what I meant, so I guess I assumed everyone else would too. :p Besides, to me it was a wonderful, thoughtful gift of the heart! I was so excited when Barney agreed to try to draw Becca from such a tiny, poor quality photo. As I mentioned in my previous post, Barney does charge a fee for drawing sketches for others. To me, the sketch is priceless!

Well, just when I had finally sniffed up the tears, I read this post and the tears started again. (Tomorrow we take Miss Priss back to her breeders for boarding while we go on a tour that was planned before we got her. Every "normal" thing we have done today has made me tear up. I dread leaving her tomorrow more than I dread the 7 hour trip to her breeder's.)

I am totally awed by Barney's talent and just speechless that it's a HOBBY! Oh my word, he is so gifted!

Linda and Barney, you guys are super special and in my opinion, your work is priceless! Knowing you, my guess is that the fee barely covers the raw materials and frame. It is such a work of love and really that makes it impossible to price where anyone could afford it!

Every time I see Barney's work I am so touched and until today had no clue it was just a hobby. If Linda has mentioned that before, it went right over my head.

It is a lovely sketch of Becca and I know you will treasure it forever.
