Ok.... I just made the drive 2 TN to meet Amanda today (who got my choc. yorkie). It wasn't that big of a drive (about 3 1/2 hours) I didn't see the area you guys are talking about. Can someone tell me more of where it is? I was in Knoxville, TN. Is it close. I am coming from Greenville, SC. I am coming from I-40.

I like diet coke, diet pepsi, or diet dr pepper. And I know my hubby like regular dr pepper. But like I said before if no one else drinks diet I can bring my own. :)

From Knoxville, TN to Fredonia, KS (that's where we are meeting) is a 13 hour drive! I just mapped it on Mapquest. If your up for it come on! :D

Hey guys-I'm sorry it's taken me so long to let you know if I'm coming. I have my husband wittled down to "maybe", from "it'll cost too much in gas".

Sooo, there's hope. I think he's hesitant because he's shy in social situations where he doesn't know anyone. Thankfully for him, I'm not that way and just take over conversations...LOL He doesn't have to say a word!

I'll try again tonight. :)

Its okay. Dont ask too much to make him say no. lol. We woould not like that. Just let us know whenever you can. Tell him that there will be other guys there too. :)
BTW, gas is going down :D . It is $2.57 here

He'll fit in perfect with my hubby then, he doesn't talk much around other people either but I'm SURE the men will all get a kick out of teasing us with the babies!!!!!
BTW anyone with kids is more than welcome to bring them, I'm sure mine would love someone to play with.

If I could I would just hop in the car with the dogs and be there. He doesn't like me driving by myself that long. I'll get him talked into it I think! As far as kids, I have three teenagers-if I brought them we'd all have to bring double groceries...LOL

I'll let you know for sure if I can come. I would like to. I may not have my Yorkie before then, so I'll have to bring my Westie. I told my granddaughter about the meeting and she wants to come. She is 13 and is getting a Yorkie for her birthday. She hopes to have it before then.
I will bring a side dish (maybe potatoes) and a dessert.
I talked to a lady yesterday who has Yorkies. She is a teacher at the school where I work. I'm the Transportation Director. I think she has some puppies ready, or I may find out about the Vet from Girard and see if she has any ready.

Last week the vet in girard had some or is going to have a female for $650 or $700. I can pm her number to you. I got my yorktese from her last thurday and she is soo nice. Not sure how much you want to spend. But even if you dont have a yorkie by then we would love for you to come and bring your westie, I think westies are soo cute.

Sorry I'm so late the the thread! We are just getting settled in after the wedding and honeymoon.

We will be out of town that weekend but returning on Sunday; I'll have to see what he thinks about it, although I can pretty much guarantee he wouldn't be joining me! He's a big baby when it comes to traveling.

Hope Penny and I can make it!

I'm in Wichita so it's about a 2 hr drive. I just talked to him about it. He thinks we (yes, WE - he plans to join) should catch everyone on the next get-together because we will be returning from out of town that day and it would add up to 6 hours of travel time. :(

How often does everyone get together?

I am from the Wichita area too until I moved to Pittsburg for College. My hometown is a very little town south of Wichita called Udall have you heard of it.

Oh BTW, This is the first one. IT is hard to find a location that everyone could come too. I think next time we are going to go north to get with some people up by KC maybe not sure though. We will just have to wait and see how this one goes.

I live by Wichita!! Are u in Wichita? I live in Douglass. Maybe you could ride w/ me & my hubby...if u want to come. How many yorkies do u have?

Staci - I have heard of Udall, but I don't think I've ever been there unless we have traveled through on the way to somewhere else.

Even a get-together in KC would be okay; I don't mind driving, and we have family & friends in KC. I think it's more the timing issue with us since we already have plans that weekend. Have to go cheer on the Wildcats!!

Lucky's Mom - That's such a nice offer! I'll have to talk to hubby to figure out when we plan on returning to Wichita that day. We'll be visiting family, too, while we are gone so we might not get away early enough. I haven't heard of Douglass? (except for Douglas county... but I don't know where that is either - LOL).

edited to add: and we have just one Yorkie, our baby Penny

Ya, I hadn't heard of Douglass either until the realtor showed us our house here! Do u know where Rose Hill is? Its about 5 min east of Rose Hill. Or about 15 min south of Augusta. Your more than welcome to join if you like! :D

sound like there will be quite a few of us coming!! That is really exciting!!! If we have one in KC we could do it at my parents house!!!! We have a HUGE back yard....and they should have the new house built by March or April....I can't wait to meet everyone!! If you are coming could you PM me and let me know how many pups you are bringing and what their names are??? Thanks guys!!!!

Of course Callie will be there...My sister is adopting a yorkie from the local shelter today and I'm going to try to get her to come. If she does I think his name will be Jasper, I'll talk to her later today after she gets him and we'll find out for sure.
