I'm really sorry to hear about your ordeal. I hope your little Ty pulls through with flying colors. I'm glad that your vet provides a credit card care card. That is a great option. I wish you luck in getting all the money from the breeder that you are requesting to reimburse you for the vets bills. Hugs to Ty from Thor! Hannah |
Thanks everyone, i will be sure to keep everyone updated on the process. |

Thank you for the input, Like i said, im not settling for less then what was paid for the puppy at bare minimum. I would also like the Breeder to take care of the $810 Vet bill (but i am not getting my hopes up, just hoping he is a good guy and cares about the dogs well being more then a profit), and i will cover the surgery as it is my choice to not have him put down. Do you include a written and signed garuntee with the dog, or is it just a understanding?? I can not find any paperwork that we recieved about a health garuntee, Just a Vets statement saying the dog was healthy for shipment and a Cert. of Health stating that the dog was free of any diseses and was ok to send out of state. |
I hope lil Ty's surgery goes okay! |

Hopefully they will at least refund you the money that you paid for him. I sure hope he gets to feeling better soon. |
I am sorry your dog is sick. I hope the breeder refunds some money to you. Thats great that your vet has a payment plan. Hopefully he will get better soon. |

Your Ty has my best wishes for a successful outcome....that's my youngest boy's name too. |
Well, the Breeder has refused to do anything but give me a new puppy. I cant seem to make his greedy self understand, that if i wanted another dog, i woudlnt be spending $1500 to save this one. Im only asking for the $810 with is less then paid for the dog. He says he cant afford to take money out of his pocket and had the balls to tell me that "sometimes you just have to suck it up and take the loss" i cant believe how arragant he was, He suggested i crate the dog and send him back to AZ....im in NH.....so his vet can verify my vets results. Cant seem to get it through his head that this dog is Dying and that just isnt possible....ARGH!!! |
He is ADORABLE!! I hope all turns out well for you and your lil' angel boy. The breeder sounds like a real S.O.B!!!! Be persistent and hopefully he will do what's right. My thoughts and prayers and with you and your Ty baby. |

You would think that he would accept fax documentation from your vet and not subject this poor little guy to anything else. I agre he does sound like an SOB. I'm sorry that you are having such a difficult time with him. |
I told him point blank we can do it the easy way or the hard way, I design webpages for a part time hobby, ill make sure no one ever has to deal with this guy EVER again. Update: Went to visit the lil guy in hospital, so horrible seeing him with a lil shaved leg and a IV in the other leg. He wanted to jump around and play with me so bad, His ears went straight up the second i poked my head in the door, he was so happy to see me! Im happy to say the the Vet Hospital offered to do the Ultrasound for free on him and hopefully it will all come out good. |

Sounds like he may be feeling a little better. I hope that you are able to get something satisfactory out of this guy. Good Luck. Hopefully your little one will start feeling better real soon. So when are they going to do his surgery? Thanks for keeping us posted. |
Well, they are unable to find the shunt with a Ultrasound (not to sure what that means as far as where it is), They are prepared to do the surgery tomorrow, but we are gonna hold off until we consult a Local vet here who specializes in Small animal Surgery. Compare the prices and see what they think. Hopefully a couple more days and this will all be done. Sean |
The shunts do not always show up in an ultrasound, A scintigraphy usually will show a shunt. If it is a Portosystemic surgery can correct it, if it is MVD it is controlled by diet. The surgery is costly, but the dog does go on to live a normal life after it. I doubt the breeder will do anything about the pups, and will probably continue to breed the pair and keep selling these puppies that will cause heart ache among people who buy them. |
