GO! My husband and I had not been on a vacation for 30 years because I would not leave my dog/dogs. Well I finally decided I had to go to Arizona with him for 6 days as he really wanted to and he deserved to go after giving up vacations because of me.So we went the end of June and up until the day before I wasn't sure I could do it. I did it, loved it and want to go back. My girls were in great hands with my dtr at home and my nephew coming in each day to spend time with them. They were fine, I was fine and I had a much needed vacation. I didn't know what it was like to not worry about anyone but myself for 6 days!! So go have a good time!
PS I am planning on going for a 3 day trip soon!!

We useually take the furbutts with us on vacations however in February we took a week long cruise and no dogs are allowed. We had a niece come in and stay. I was so anxious at first, I spent a small fortune in cellphone calls and pictures but it was well worth it. The dogs loved having someone one new with them for the week. They were certainly well cared for and I was able to have a VERY memorable trip. Chances are really good that you will regret not going but you will not regret going! Trust your boys!!! Allow them the opportunity to do this for you and their furry sisters!

I completely understand how you feel. I hate leaving my dogs and I couldn't ever board them but since you have someone to watch her then I agree that you should go. I was able to go to Vegas with my sister and her friend in May and while I hate leaving any of my dogs, it was sooo hard to leave my new puppy (Tobie). It was hard but I would do it again! LOL. We had so much fun having girls time in Las Vegas and I have forgotten all about the missing them while I was away. Sure, me and my sister would get back to the hotel room and talk about how much we missed our babies (she has chuhuahuas) but we wouldn't think so much about it the next day when we were having a blast. You need to have these fun times and not miss out on the memories because life is too short! Your little one will have someone to give her (or him, can't remember) hugs and kisses and will have someone to cuddle with and play with.... everything will be fine so go and have fun and make lots of amazing memories :D:D

I wanted to drop in and thank all of you! Im going! We are about to leave now... just waiting for everyone to arrive!

Im very excited but I am still very tearful about this whole thing. I cry and scoop her up assuring her: Mama will be back!

Ill cry for a bit when I leave - but Im leaving! And its because of all of you understanding and putting it into perspective. :thumbup:

I know Im not very active here. I just dont want any drama and there is a lot to be found here - undeniable! One doesnt have to even seek it, simply say a word and POUNCE... you've stepped in it.

I avoid that by staying inactive. This way, I can still be a part of YT, yet not a part of any of the drama that often comes along with it. At my age, you have enough to worry about than to have to create drama. lol

Many PM'ed me asking why I never speak or why I have not one single friend. I just answered your question.

I didnt reply to those PM's because that could be the beginning of drama. I decided to address the questions here, in a public forum. So that everyone knows and my words cant be manipulated as has happened here before. Now, I stay in the forums, rather than PM.

Y'all are a great bunch. Im floored Im actually going... I promise many pics when I return... but lacking my baby-girl! :rolleyes:

Oh, I think she is just saying she is afraid to post because of some of the threads. My sister is exactly the same way! She has read most every thread here but wouldn't post a comment at all and she has been a member long before me. We have to remember that some peeps handle things differently. I don't want to stray away from the original post, but please try and understand where she is coming from. I too got involved in some drama with one of my very first post. Don't scare her away with her first post.

I hope you have a great road trip and learn that you can take many more. Enjoy!!!

I agree with the others. You should go and have a "ME" time! You can go shopping while in the ports and look for new gifts for your baby, but you do need a break every now and then, so go now!!!! ((((Hugs))) I like the idea of having your sons send you pictures on your cell or on an e-mail account.

I waited to post this until you had left and hopefully you won't read it until you get back. I know exactly how you feel. I took a long dreamed of trip several years ago and had to kennel my dogs. At first I couldn't figure out why I felt so homesick. Then I realized I missed my dogs so much I couldn't stand it. Now I realize that I would way rather be with my dog than travel.

Hey YT'ers!

I awoke this morning in a new town! Without my babygirl! I did it! :p

Lord I miss her though but us girls are having so much fun! Again, I thank you all so very much... you had a lot more to do with getting me to go than you can imagine.

If you want? I will upload pics from the trip as the days role by? Im here for 12 more days and take lots of pics.

Would anyone like me to post Key West pics here daily... thats where us birdies landed. I know many of you love pics! Im more than happy to share! :animal-pa

Here are a few of my Baby as I was having a lone time with her a couple of hours before everyone arrived at my house to head out. Shes a mess here but hey - they are infamous for bad hair days!

I hope you love her too. I know... her ears are far too big lol. God bless her! But to me she is nothing but pure perfection! :thumbup:

She'll be 3 soon. Shes not too big or too small. Shes 4.8 pds at last vet trip. Hearty lil thing
