| ![]() Hello Yorkie Friends.... Can anyone tell me when a baby's dark coat actually turns to the steel blue? Lucky is about 10 mths old now and I can notice that there is a greyish blue starting to grow in places! I am kind of excited to see this happen but kinda sad too....cause I don't want him to loose his puppy colors of black and tan! ![]() Lucky's Mommy ![]() |

| ![]() Well I dont want to rain on your parade, but your puppy might loose that black and tan. Sometimes they yorkies will stay black..to pretty dark. We have a couple really dark yorkies on YT and we have some real blonde ones.. Peanut was black and tan and now he is pretty light..he still has his black on his body but its kinda covered in sliver...like salt and peper!!

| ![]() Ahh you guys dont like the silver!! I think the silver is beeeeautiful!! I will admit I wasnt too thrilled when I saw it coming in on Peanut...but now I love it!! Its funny bc when I shave peanut really short on his body he is black... and when it grows out it comes in silver, Right now his body hair is black/silver. I dont think he looks "old" when he is silver...In the sun its really pretty!! its like little flicks of silver. If your babies turn silver, you guys will love them just the same!!

| ![]() I think the silver is gorgeous, doesn't make them look "old" I just think when the color is changing it makes the hair look thinner at first ![]()

| ![]() Teddy's coat is slowly getting lighter. He is 10 months old and his head is like almost all white. My bf calls him cotton ball head! Haha. It made me sad to see his puppy hair and coloring gone though. The other day my dad told me wow Teddy is starting to look like a dog now and not so much like a baby =( Yes it made me have a sad face when he said that! Oh well he will always be my little baby and I will always call him a puppy!!

| ![]() I think the silver is pretty, too. Sophie's hair has silver on her head and a little on her chest as you can see in my avatar, but if you look closely at the silver roots you can see it eventually turns to a beautiful light tan ![]() Jackie & my ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() I was so excited when Gracie Ruth started to break color. Her head turned the most amazing silver. ![]() I really wanted it to stay that color, but knew it wouldn't. She really seems to be taking her sweet little time change over to the blonde. She certainly went through a 'dirty face' look but it's getting better and she doesn't look like a homeless little waif needing her face washed so much any more. ![]() Yogi never did get any silver. He's stayed back and tan. His daddy is this color so I'm happy to see him stay dark too. ![]() Boo has the most beautiful redish blonde color and in the winter when we let his coat grow out he gets the running gold throughout his body. ![]() Now I know Yogi & Boo aren't to standard with their coloring, but I just love how all 3 of have different coloring and I think it's cool to see people's reactions to the varitey.
