This might be a "rookie" question, but....What is the difference between a slicker and a pin brush? |

Here's a picture of steal pin brush. http://www.doggonegoodstuff.com/Brus...smallbrush.jpg. The tips should be polished and not sharp. Don't buy these in the pet store, they are all poor quality that I've seen, and the tips aren't polished. I like the Maden brush, and many people recommend the Chris Christensen brush. Here's another type of pin brush that that has plastic rounded tips, and you shouldn't use this type either, if you are growing the coat, as it will break the hair. http://www.bestfriendspetboutique.co...0TPB%20071.jpg |

I loved my CC Gold Series brush until I discovered Madan brushes. After trying a Madan, I will never use another brush again. :) |
Never use a Slicker brush on a yorkie as yes - it will break their coat. Amazing what photos can tell - A person shared a photo of a pup they were thinking of buying for show and in the photo right next to the dog was a slicker brush - I knew right then and there - this breeder person had no idea how to groom their yorkies and was a novice. CC Gold Pin Brush is my all time favorite - it is about 40.00 but worth it and comes with a guarantee. |
