New Biewer yorkie!!!!
 
I rescued a Biewer Yorkie today he is very cute he is 3 years old and well behaved. He is 14 lbs is that normal? :aimeeyork (Coach) Thanks for any info.

He's a bit over the 7 pound standard. I have two...one is around 10 lbs and the other around 4 pounds. They are both the sweetest dogs.

Oh Congratulations!! I can't wait to see pics! I have a 10 pound yorkie and a puppy that should be betwen 5-7 pounds. I love all sizes of yorkies!

No....it is difficult to describe but they are quite different from yorkies.

You mean specifically on the temperament?

I guess the best word is gentle. They are the gentlest little dogs, literally melt into your arms when you hold them. They aren't the neurotic little dogs that yorkies tend to be. I love my yorkies too...but they are just different from my biewers. I've meet lots of other biewers...and every one of them is like this. They fit in fabulously when you bring one home....like they never lived anywhere else.....just so easy going and loving.

Like I said it's hard to explain...but ask a biewer owner and they'll all agree.

I agree they are very gentle dogs. I call Mick my Zen puppy. LOL Even my 8 year old yorkie who has mvd and doesn't like any new dogs loves Mick....they are different and just wonderful! juliet

Aww I will have to see one in person one of these days!! They sounds like little angels!! I know how "neurotic" yorkies can be lol I think Peanut is neurotic..

Congratulations on your Biewer boy!! I'm so sad that a Biewer had to be rescued, but happy at the same time that you were able to rescue him. Can't wait to see pics!!!

I think Harry is a biewer!! (not really, he is yorkie through and through)..but unlike Trevor who is a morkie and on the go 24/7.....Harry would rather be with me...sitting on my lap, laying in my bed, ......maybe he is a black and tan biewer ;)

Can you tell how you came about rescuing him? Did you get any paperwork on him? How did you find him? I think it is very important to get the story out on some of these rescue dogs as many Biewers have ended up in BYB and even puppy mill situations. If we can track down the original breeders it would help a lot. A reputable breeder will always take their dogs back.

The reason you will have some big Biewers is because the Yorkies in Europe are larger dogs and you always have to look in the past generations to see the size of the dogs. The USA tends to go for the small yorkies and that is what you are used to but if you look at Yorkies overseas you will see more sturdy dogs and I am sure more are at the 7lbs (standard) then here. Many of the original Biewers were in the 9lb range.

MaryKay I was thinking the same thing and in reading all these posts you said it. I couldn't believe that a Biewer was in a rescue situation.:(

Ahh but he found a great home and you will love them. Everything everyone is saying about them is so true. I have just had Cosmo 7 weeks and he is my little clown boy..he is so sweet and loving and oh so funny.:D

Congrats and can't wait to see pics.

I've watched many youtube videos and heard the same bark from those biewers.

I can't really explain it much more than that (if I even really explained anything) I love them already and I only have/experienced one in real life (mine). I've had many experiences with other yorkies. They are VERY different.

I hope Jtamura will provide the information regarding the rescue. I agree that it is very important if this dog can be traced back to the original breeder or owner (maybe he is an import, that grew too big). I am sad that again a biewer needed to be rescued.

Mine was 11.5 pounds before he passed. I think maybe they are just bigger? He sure had a big heart! :)

So far I have been with Coach 12 hours and he is just an angel. He is house trained and is such a good boy. Hope to find him a girlfraind soon cause it looks like he needs one fast. :p I got him groomed and he looks great! When I got him he smelled realy bad :eek:. Did not have a good owner poor baby.

Coach wanto to hump everything dog he sees. Other than that he is very sweet anyone would love to have a boy like mine. I got him with all his paperwork and he was born in germany. He was well taken care of till the couple split then he spent most of his time outdoors witha mstiff. He pee peed last night but I think thats just because he spent sooo much time outdoors and on the street because I talked to some of the people around and they said the owner did not care muchand just let him wonder around.
I found the man taking this poor baby to the pound and just didn't let him walk in with him. I found his address in the paperwork he gave me and decided to drive around and ask. That was sad to hear all the people say that this person did not care about this baby. :( Thank god he is alive, healthy and happy. I wish you could see him running around my home playing with my other two babies and my kids. My hisband even loves him and he is more into bigger dogs he just took him for a walk and potty break after a good breakfast.:) We love Coach

Yeah I was wondering too. I hope no one takes this offensively (as so often opinions are). But finding a girl large enough for this guy will be difficult. As I couldn't even find a girlfriend for my 9lb yorkie.

Maybe I should just get him neutered. I don't want any more left behind puppies out there :rolleyes: I will talk to my vet. maybe I should thake this breeders offer of trading him for a puppy maybe she could find him a wife so he can have babies That way I would know that the people taking my grandchildren are pet lovers. I don't know what to do. I just don't wat it to end up in some crazy persons puppy mill. Please help!!!!!!! Trade or neuter?:confused:

OMG what a cool name, Coach!!! I am so happy that he is fitting in with your gang.

Delicatepuzzle...you are so right on that bark...when Cosmo first barked I even jumped and asked where did that come from???:eek: Such a deep bark from such a little guy. Here Izzy with the squeaky, high-pitched, girlie bark and then there is Cosmo..deep and husky. Well no mistaking their barks from one another.

Keep us posted on Coach..and whre are the pics???..lol

My 12 month old biewer boy weighs in around 7lbs. His temperament is totaly different from my little 5lb yorkie girl,he is just a sweet little clown..all you have to do is pet him on the side and be ready to have him fall into your arms..he likes to lay in your arms like a little baby. His bark is also very distinct..looks like a little powder puff and sounds like a wolf hound!!! lol He is too sweet for words and not as stubborn as my little yorkie jada. glad you were able to rescue him:)..can't imagine someone not taking good care of such sweet little dogs:mad:.
