And to the others who have posted here about Biewers temperament, well you have just sent me into total "Biewer envy"...... I'm getting the Biewer-wants. And that is just nuts cause I already have a houseful of furbabies.

First off, congrats on the new addition. Coach is very lucky to have found someone willing to take him and give him the proper home he deserves. Looking at the 'before' grooming pictures just breaks my heart for this poor little fella.

Secondly, I would highly suggest you neuter him. This poor guy has come from a very bad situation, you know little about his background and he is WAY off the standard--twice the weight called for alone. He should be loved and spoiled, but certainly not bred. Think of it this way...you started the thread asking about his weight because you found it odd...the same would be the situation for any pups he produced? Makes no sense to recreate something you were questioning from the get go.

(It's actually unfortunate situations like this that reputable breeders hope to avoid by requiring s/n agreements or having the dog s/n before releasing it.)

I guess the best word is gentle. They are the gentlest little dogs, literally melt into your arms when you hold them. They aren't the neurotic little dogs that yorkies tend to be. I love my yorkies too...but they are just different from my biewers. I've meet lots of other biewers...and every one of them is like this. They fit in fabulously when you bring one home....like they never lived anywhere else.....just so easy going and loving.

Like I said it's hard to explain...but ask a biewer owner and they'll all agree.

This is a pefect description of my biewer, Jordy. I brought him home from the rescue's foster mom when he was 1 1/2 years old and there was no transition period. It was like my home had always been his home. Although, because he had come from a puppy mill, he didn't know how to play with toys or what to think when I gave him huggins - but he figured those things out pretty darn fast! Now he wants me to carry him everywhere I go, sit on my lap and snuggle, and curl right up against me in bed. I've said many times, he is the sweetest, gentlest, best natured dog I have ever known. I think you're going to fall in love with your new baby just as much. Congratulations!!

I am thrilled you are now going to neuter him as Biewers are wonderful pets and sadly your little boy is not going to help "better the breed" but he will "better your home". I still wish you would post who the breeder is or send me a pm as it appears she still wants to breed out of standard if she wanted to trade for a puppy. This will only ruin this WONDERFUL breed. They are just clowns are are so much more mellow than a yorkie.

I have to confess it is tempting! However Biewers are almost unheard of in Hawaii, and we can't import easily due to quarantine restrictions. My family says don't even look at puppies anymore, but I can't help it.

Actually now that I think about it. YOu are so right. Ella had absolutely NO transition period. She wasn't nervous or hesitant or anything. She strut her stuff around like she was home from the second I set her on the floor. Which says a lot for the least dominant of a litter of three. I must say, although I ADORE yorkies, there's just something about biewers that I just love Love LOVE!!!!
