She would throw it around and then eat a small puppy sized bit of food. She wasn't as small as yours but I was so enthralled, I gave her a lot of variety and when she stopped eating my breeder told me to stop giving her so many options. For a puppy that isn't eating, boiled chicken and white rice usually will help. I believe Nutrical has Karo syrup in it, maybe even the first ingredient, so I don't think Karo plus the Nutrical is necessarily needed. I do agree you need to be sure food and water are available 24/7, as well as Nutrical, but check the label. Sometimes doggie bowls seem to intimidate my little one, who is 3 lbs full grown, so I will put a little food on the carpet and keep adding to it when she eats, telling her she's a good girl, etc., while I'm down on her level coaching. I don't think it is the sole indicator but check his gums often, make sure they are pink and give Nutrical if they are not. Lacey and Chloe got hypoglycemic when they were small but it was easy for me to tell, their gums were white and they were lethargic. Good luck. |
