Need new summer hair cut ideas! 2 Attachment(s) Ok I need help. I need a new shorter haircut for Teddy's summer cut! He has an appointment on Friday. Last summer he was a puppy and had short hair already. he now has beautiful long silky hair and I don't want it to short his momma (Bridgette) always has a short cut as her hair is not as silky as Teddy's. Anyway if anyone has any shorter hair cut photos I'd really really appreciate it. My groomer does a better job when she has a picture to reference off of. This is Teddy today! It's been 100 degrees or higher lately. And he looks very beautiful but I'm sure he appreciate a shorter hair cut and in about a month or so when it starts cooling down we can let it grow back out! |
2 Attachment(s) You probably wouldn't want it this short... but Jackson got shaved up for the summer and I loved it because it was sooo low maintenance. This picture was from the day after it was done, it's now already grown back significantly. I got his hair cut at the end of June. The second picture is of his last hairstyle back in April, shorter but not so short. |
4 Attachment(s) Here's some haircut pics I liked too... they're not Jackson, I just saved them when I was looking around, lol :p |

1 Attachment(s) Here is a picture of my Shorty when he had a summer cut at the groomers several years ago. This cut could be modified and made a bit short, especially the face. |
2 Attachment(s) We got a hair cut like Nancy cut her Joey , Its adorable and deffinatly beautiful, everywhere we go people stop us to ask where we got the hair cut, its just adorable and sooo fancy, I like it way better then shaved or a puppy cut!! Attachment 287769 Attachment 287770 |
I really appreciate all the replies. But it took him a year to grow all his beautiful hair. I would hate to shave him or cut him too short. I love the long silky hair. But I can just tell he is very uncomfortable going potty outside now. |
Oh shorty that's very cute but it actually looks longer than teddys! |
OHHHH! I like this! Gunnar needs a cut too and I hate losing his hair. He will be one on 8/21. Darn, I didn't do it right. I was replying to Jeanm1963 |

1 Attachment(s) Wow Rachel! I came across this site while googling info on Yorkies so I signed up and was thinking I wonder if Rachel has a account and here you are!! Your posting was the second one I clicked after signing up! BridgetteMomma is the most amazing pet owner I've ever met!!:number1ri As far as Teddy..A haircut would be nice for him in this 100 degree weather..hehe...Here's one I found that would be nice! |
1 Attachment(s) Awwww thanks Denisha! I found another YorkieTalk member Dina Nichole! I LOVE her yorkies hair cuts. I think I'm gonna have both Teddy and Bridgette cut this way! |

I was soo worried about cutting Jackson's hair too but he, like Rily, had sooo much puppy hair! It had to be brushed at least 2-3x a day to look decent. So I took him to the groomer and was VERY clear I didn't want a lot cut off, she just trimmed the face, and paws, belly, etc. I just knew I had to let him grow up someday... :( lol. BridgettesMomma... I would just tell your groomer that you simply want a TRIM, around the eyes, butt, paws, etc. I think he'd look adorable and still be able to keep his long hair. |
OMGoodness! That hairstyle is too cute and unique!! Perfect choice! |
4 Attachment(s) I just cut Maddie's hair about 10 min ago!:) She got into some sticky burr type plants and matted her hair... I think that it turned out pretty cute, the hair on the legs and skirt would normally be a bit thicker but the some of the burrs had to be cut out. This is similar to some of the other cuts posted. Fist one is a before (it had just reached the ground) |

4 Attachment(s) You may not want it this short, but it's very easy to care for and looks cute. Travers had very, very long thick silky hair. It was beautiful, but I decided to give him a break and cut it short this summer because it has been SO HOT!! I really like it. I think I will keep it. He looks so cute and feels so free! Here is a link to some before pictures: Blue Sky Yorkies | Lots of Love in a Little Package Here are some now. It has been about two weeks since I cut it. I really like it because he looks good all the time and since he wears a belly band it is easy to keep him clean. Just be sure whatever you do that they leave some hair on the legs. I cut one of my boys legs short and he looked so pitiful until it grew out. I like this way much better. You can leave a skirt if you want. I didn't because of the belly band. Attachment 287815Attachment 287816Attachment 287817Attachment 287818 I had a hard time getting him to hold still. I had to bribe him with is favorite duck, but he kept getting it away from me. He was looking up so high in the 2nd pic (the only way I could keep it out of reach) that you can't see his eyes. LOL In the last picture he escaped and hid under the table to get away from the camera... |
1 Attachment(s) Here is Beau's summer cut. I too like his hair on the shorter side, but not shaved. My compromise is a round face and a short skirt! :) |

Here's how I got Riot cut...trimmed up his legs, beard, belly, chest then his hair on the top of his back is longer than the sides if that makes sense! This way he kept some of his hair =) This has about 6 weeks of growth. I am not able to upload pics for some reason but here's some links http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_0144.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_0145.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_0143.jpg |
