i just got Sadie, she did the same thing about sleeping her whole first night and then keeping me up more as it went, but i started crating her when she got sleepy from the get go and she has access to a crate 24/7 whenever she wants it, she's got her blanket in there and toys and she'll go in and out all day when she wants space. she will go right to sleep at night, wake up at 3am and cry to go pee, i'll sing her back to sleep after potty break and she'll sleep until 5am and then get up to pee and eat and play some and then sometimes sleep more so i can catch another zzz... she's really good, but i've taught her already that her crate is her bed and her haven not to be punished, it's for her to love and enjoy in there. i always lay on the floor next to her in the crate and put my fingers in the crate's door until she falls asleep....she's getting tucked in basically. ;) sometimes i sing her to sleep as well |
Lucky baby having a crate. Tia slept in a shoe box for the first 2 nights lol mind you I didn't hear a peep out of her , well apart from her coughing. I do hope you get some sleep tonight. |
Have you thought about putting the crate where he can see you at bedtime. My Jewels didnt like to be confined and would scream when I put her in the xpen but when she saw me lay down to go to sleep she would quiet down and go to sleep |
I brought Suzi home when she was going on 9 weeks old. I did not allow her on the bed at this age for fear she would get hurt , because she could not jump up or down off the bed. I had a bed for her near my bed , and potty pads. She knew where her food and water was , and often ate during the night. She did not cry at all ever during the night . I was lucky. When she got a little bigger and was able to jump on and down safely on the bed she slept on my bed. She's been sleeping on the bed ever since then. We brought home a little 7weeker who was very tiny . A Shih Tzu. this was was a cryer. I slept on the couch for a least a month after bringing her home. She slept on the carpet , and blanket next to me , and Suzi. Until old enough to be on the bed. Again I did not use a crate or expen. She was trained to use the pee pads excatly like Suzi. Having Suzi already in the apartment sped things up fast for the puppy. LItlle Miely the pup picked up on using the pee pads quickly. Now I have Suzi and miely who is 3 1/2 months old sleeping on my bed each night never had any potty accidents . :aimeeyork |
Follow up on bad night Well it's official Mimms will be sleeping with Ashley:pHe goes potty before bed and wears a diaper at night. So far it's been great:thumbup:Jada however likes to sleep in her crate I think that's her comfort zone at night. If I leave her out she will patrol the house get into fights with the cat. Her crate is in our room so when we go to bed she goes potty and then in the crate, sleeps all night and at about 6am goes to poop and pee and goes back to sleep. |
