Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Urine clean up on Laminate floor Hi everyone! So i just installed Quick Step laminate wood flooring in my studio. Does anyone else have this? what do you use to clean the floor if your dog peed or pooped on it? i'm not sure if i can use the stuff i usually do for carpet cleaning (nature's miracle or simple solutions). what do you use for basic cleaning?

| I was using Simple Solution for Buddy. The problem with laminate floors is that the urine can get in the cracks and soak in. I haven't had another puppy yet, so I really don't know if the Simple Solution actually works. But I love the way it cleans and smells, especially on real hardwood. I use it for regular mopping. Hope that helps |

yeah the guy we bought the flooring from said if any liquid sits on the floor long enough it can get through the cracks. Morgan doesn't generally pee on the floor anymore unless she is sick. I didn't know if i could use simple solutions on the laminate. I don't know if it will ruin the finish of the flooring. The instructions for the floor say to not spray anything on it but to instead mist the floor duster and clean with that. that works great for regular cleaning but i don't know about urine, vomit, or poop.

| I bought very cheap laminate and it didn't hurt it at all. I live in a apartment and didn't want to spend $$$. Do you have an extra piece? Or a place where you can test it and not be obvious? |

| I have laminate, and I use Nature's Miracle...Fortunately, the accidents are fewer and fewer, and usually only when I'm running late, getting home from work...she never does go in the same place, so I know the nature's miracle is doing the job....And, no problems, whatsoever w/the finish, staining, etc.... |

| The good thing about laminate is that it does not scratch or scuff. You *should* be able to use just about any cleaner. BUT DO NOT, NOT, NOT LET IT SIT FOR LONG. Wipe or mop it up as you spray. The laminate can raise/lift around the cracks/edges. Not the whole piece just the top covering that gives the wood look. It's hard to explain but trust me I left some cleaner on our laminate floor too long under the kitchen table and it is lifting around a couple of edges. (at least it was only a couple of pieces and its under the table out of sight, and then again its not that noticable unless the light is shinning in just right and your looking under the table) I would just your normal wood floor cleaner for accidents though.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | LOL that's why i got it too. the carpet was over 10 years old and when we picked it up you could see all the old pee stains from morgan and my old dog, plus the little vomit stains from my sisters older cat. Sure i cleaned them with enzyme cleaner but those stains just don't go away.

| I have a Pergo floor in my kitchen and I've it for about 10 years and all I have ever used is vinegar and water. Looks as good as it did when we put it in. P.S. After I 1st got the floor I looked at a bottle of cleaner that Pergo made and read what was in it and yes "vinegar & water" was in it also some other chemicals that I couldn't even read.

| A couple times (over the last 4 years) Tatum has peed on the rug by our back door - probably because we weren't around to let her out (and she doesn't bark to be let out - just does a little growl - so if you don't hear her... oh well!). I have cleaned that rug with Nature's Miracle and then sprayed the floor under it also with the Nature's Miracle. Just wipe it up right away. For regular cleaning of the laminate floor (spot cleaning - like when someone tracks in mud), I use Windex Multi. Again, just wipe it up right away. I use a laminate floor cleaning spray with a microfiber pad to clean it all over.

YT Addict | I know Simple Solutions makes a cleaner for Hardwood floors. I believe its called Simple solution hardwoods. I'm not sure if it can be used on laminate or not. This is what the label says: Safe for use on sealed wood, linoleum, vinyl, brick, marble and ceramic tile to permanently remove stains and odors. Is laminate considered sealed wood? |

| We have laminate flooring & use Precision Components Laminate Floor Cleaner. I think we bought it at Lowe's (not sure). We just adopted a puppy & have had MANY cleanups with excellent results!
