This Friday is the day!! I'm too anxious too concentrate. My little girl is coming home on Friday. I've already had to wait an extra week, which was good for her to develop and learn more, but now it's finally here, she's coming this Friday at 10:00am and i'll have three days to play with her and love her and teach her. I can't wait, did anyone else feel this ridiculously excited. I can't work, i can hardly sleep, and i'm just so ready for the next two work days to pass by so i can go get her!!! Wow what a feeling, knowing my life is about to change forever and i'm going to have my first fur baby, and since i just got married, she's the first of any babies to our home... wish us luck, and offer any advice you have! |
You sound so excited. Who wouldn't be??? A new baby to love. Ah those puppy kisses, nothing like a new puppy. Post pictures of her I can't wait to watch her grow here. I"m excited for you. It's like we here at YT are getting a new little one. I want to wish you much happiness with your new girl. You sound like you are going to be a great mommy. She is a lucky little girl. Friday will be here before you know it. You won't remember what your life was like without her in it. |
Congratulations! Congratulations and give your lil' :aimeeyork a tiny hug from all of us...:D |
Oh Congratulations!!!! I can't wait to see pictures! |
Not long to go now |
Congrats! I remember feeling the same way! |
I was the exact same way while waiting to go pick up my puppy. We were driving quite a ways but I didn't want to have her shipped and wanted to meet the breeders in person rather than just over the phone before handing over my money. So....I ended up leaving work early because I just couldn't wait any longer. :) It wasn't like I was getting anything done...too many butterflies!!! -C |
Congratulations, You'll fall in love with your furbaby so fast. |
I actually went in to your old postings yesterday to see when you were getting your puppy. It is so exciting. Best of luck and be sure to post pictures.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:coolsmile |
Congrats! I know exactly how you feel- only I have a whole month to go! These are great dogs and I hope that you have such a great experience with her! Cant wait to see pictures! |
I know the feeling...its like when you are a kid waiting for Christmas!!! LOL Congrats and we can't wait to see pics! :) |
will you consider? yes, i do have an advice for you. since you can't work and can't sleep anyways. how about making that long overdue drive to the breeders house to see for yourself the living condition of the dogs/puppies like MANY yt members have suggested to you? |
Find a VERY good vet and get the puppy there IMMEDIATELY for a complete health check. |

I've been away for a few days, so I'm kinda out of the loop. You say the breeder had you wait an extra week? So how old will puppy be when she comes home? 8 weeks? How much does she weigh? If you are able to make the drive, you really should do it. It's so neat to see your puppy mingling with their littermates, and watch how she interacts with her Mom and Dad. Also, it would be nice to check out her living conditions, just to be sure that she's been well taken care of. Not that it makes a difference as to whether you'd take her home or not, but at least you'd have an idea of what you could be dealing with if there are any issues. Advice and suggestions? Get her vet checked immediately. And once you know that she's healthy spoil her rotten! I'd get some jammies for your little one from www.mygofetch.com (Des is awesome), and get a silk harness and leash from Chattiesmom here at YT. Oh and Chattiesmom has great Napsak beds as well. I also have a Diggy4 bed that Missy loves. Also, do you have an ex-pen? It really was (and still is) my saviour. I found it to be very helpful for housetraining my girl and I still use it when I go to visit my parents. They have a crazy Boxer, and it's nice to keep my Missy safe in her own little area with her peepads, bed, and food/water. And I know that you are aware of Nutrical. I think that since you're getting your puppy at such a young age, it is the most important thing that you need to have on hand. I don't agree with where you are getting your puppy from, or how early you are bringing her home...but I do wish you guys all the best, and I hope that she ends up doing really well! Get ready to fall head over heels in love. Yorkies really have a way of stealing your heart. :aimeeyork |
Congrats and good luck. I know you are very excited!!!:) Remember to make the appointment for the wellness visit with your vet ASAP! I hope you have a healthy happy little furbaby. Please post pics as soon as you get them. |

What???!! Quote:
Excuse me lady, but i have to work to feed my family, sorry if that wasn't clear to you all, but some of us have jobs here and can't afford to be trapsing off to meet people four hours away in the middle of the work week. By the time i put my ten hours in each day, that leaves only 4 hours before bed time. You are seriously lacking touch with reality if you think that i have time to be going that far during work...not only that, but my husband works all the weekends, and i'm not going anywhere new without him with me, not to mention, i don't have time or money to travel that far... |
Update Sadie will be going to the vet for her first check-up only four hours after she comes home. So for those that were advising that and were concerned, we have that one taken care of. We're not stupid and we're not inhumane here, we know how to take care of our puppy. Not to mention i've still been on here everyday reading and learning. As far as the comments about the drive, i'm glad that some of you would have the time and money to make that kind of a trip and i respect that you have those abilities and can do that. I am gone for work a total of 10 hours every day with lunch and drive time. My husband works 40++ hours a week and almost all weekends. We cannot and will not drive 4 hours out of our busy lives to check a breeder's home that we have met in person and seen puppies playing and thriving in person and that we have spoken to multiple reference (in person) about. They are making the drive to us (not because they don't want us to see their facility) but because their daughter lives 20 min. away and it was easier for them due to them both being retired and not working to make the trip. Stop harassing me please about this subject, I CAN'T travel right now. I've already missed a lot of work a couple of weeks ago from being ill and in the hospital, i can't afford to miss more work, i'm an intern, so i have no vacation time, no sick leave, and no pay other than the hours my butt is in this chair. sorry but your suggestions are not reasonable for my life right now. And i'm sure someone will read this and think (they are gone too long for a yorkie in the home) well we work opposite hours, he works late afternoon and nights, i work early morning and days, so actually we make a perfect home for a puppy because one of us is almost always home...and when it's me alone at night, i need something to occupy my mind and my time, a warm, wiggly bundle of love to help me feel comforted and not so lonely. so please people, if you do not have well wishes and reasonable advice for us to follow about taking care of or bringing home our baby, please keep you comments to yourselves. Thanks, Michael and Rachel |

you mentioned previously when yt members told you that yorkie health problems can be really expensive, and you said that you had plenty of money to take care of the vet bills for the puppy if needed. but you don't even have gas money. i am sorry, but you are not ready to have a puppy. i know i am not saying what you want to hear. but i hope you think about the issues i am bringing to your attention. it is important! |

However I do believe that every time she posts it should NOT be brought up anymore. We have said what we can now it\'s time to let it go. So congratulations and I wish you ALOT of luck. |
Have I missed something in this post? I am not sure why everyone is giving her such a hard time. Is she getting her puppy from some horrible breeder or something? I thought we usually give well wishes and support when someone was getting a new puppy. :( Anyway, sorry if I am blind and missed something important. |
