Actually, there aren't several breeds to one breeder.... Quote:
Thanks for ending in kindness, i just wanted to make one thing clear on your statement, the website for this kennel lists several types of dogs here because there are actually TWO different families that are breeding dogs using the same website. I know there are still several breeds for only two breeders to have, but you will notice that there are Linda's puppies, and also Suzanne's puppies and that there are two family numbers and emails listed. Linda and Marvin only have yorkies, a few morkies (SOMETIMES) and maltese. in the future, when they aren't having yorkie/maltese pups going, they may switch to the goldendoodles for awhile, and sometimes they have bolognese around. this isn't all the time, and they don't have that many pregnant dogs all in the house at once, the website i agree can be misleading and cause concern, but they really don't have tons of litters of many breeds of puppies just laying around everywhere. haha, they have a couple litters of one breed, then rest those parents and switch to another breed awhile... not as bad as you make it all sound when you know a little bit more of the facts and you understand that there are two families with FOUR people who breed these dogs and use the same website. thanks |

Ahhh, IC....I still don't agree with some of their breeding practices, but that's neither here nor there. Really, who am I to judge? I'm not even a breeder. What we all need to focus on now is your little furry bundle of love that will be coming home on Friday. I do have to say that I'm glad you stuck around despite getting frustrated with YT-ers voicing their strong opinions. I got Missy at 7 weeks 3 days of age, and I truly believed that YT and it's wealth of knowledge saved my little girls life. As opinionated as we can be, we are also very helpful here at YT. It's all for the love of Yorkies. :aimeeyork |
I hate to sound repetitive but the 4 hour drive would be an investment for you. You see with your own eyes the condition of the breeders setup. They can tell you the place is glorious, yet it is not. I went to a breeders home and they would not even let me see the mom & dad. I walked away. If the conditions of the facility are not up to par, then the dog is not going to be a healthy dog. The people on YT are trying to spare you heartache and cost at the vets. About a month ago Lexie came down with something, she was vomitting and had diarrhea... there is NO waiting until I can get off work, it is take her to the vet now, because she could get dehydrated fast since she is small. That vet visit was close to $500., bloodwork, etc.!! Luckily with meds she is fine now. The cost at the vet can be painful to the pocket. During this time that you are waiting for your baby to get home, read, read, read all you can about illness, liver shunt, luxating patella, pancreatitis, potty training, vaccines, etc. Have a savings account for the yorkie or a credit card just for her or a pet plan. I hope for your sake the puppy will adjust and is healthy. |

You obviously have a good heart. Please try to support her. I'm so glad your Lexie is fine now. Vivian |

Rachel, Good luck with your pup, I hope for her sake and yours that she will have a long, happy and healthy life with you. I remember that nervousness and excitement so well..it was 2 years ago for me now..I was choked with emotion as she was put in my arms, I will never forget it. My Pixie came from an excellent hobby show breeder here in the UK with over 45 yrs experience, so i was lucky in that i knew she had the best possible start in life and she continues to do well today..Goodluck with your baby.:) |

Rachel, you are getting yourself a puppymill pup, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT WHATEVER YOU SAY. (Just b/c they are nice doesn't mean they are not a mill.) But seeing as you really don't care, I really hope this pup of yours does not have horrible health conditions. If and when she does, I really hope you will still come back to us for advice. |

There is great love and passion for the breed on here, so puppymill issues and BYB will always cause some discussions to get a bit heated...we are here to educate and advise through personal experience...many members on here themselves got a puppymill or BYB puppy before they found YT...so all they are trying to do is to stop others from making the same mistakes they did and to save you pain and heartache, and if we all spread the word perhaps eventually these places will be closed for good...;) Here in the UK, in just the last few days, our national news have been looking at puppy farms and the large pet stores that they supply to....they secretly filmed in one particular puppy farm and it was just horrendous...heartbreaking...the conditions that the mothers and puppies were living in were disgusting...dirty, cramped, no bedding to snuggle in..or toys to play with...one puppy was lying motionless...it had probably died from an infection...so you see how bad these places CAN be...is it any wonder people get so upset. They interviewed people that had purchased puppies from these stores and so many of their dogs had died at young ages through poor health.:( Once again Rachel...i'm sorry you feel people are getting at you but also try to understand why that is....and i hope you stick around, make new friends here and learn as much as i have done...goodluck with your puppy...and don;t forget to post lots of pictures to share with us.:) |
