Awww!((((((hugs))))) to you you and Denzel! So sorry you are having a rough time, and don't beat yourself up for waiting...after all that is what the vet said to do, right? Glad he is doing better so far. As far as Hills Science Diet is concerned, most vet offices carry it because they get bombarded by sales reps. Go to Dogfoodanalysis.com, and look at the different ratings for dog food. You want to get a 5 or 6 star rating for the food that you feed. The less grains and more meat product the better. Not to say that this is Denzel's problem but food allergies are the most common. If he doesn't have an allergy to the food he could develope one later. Have you thought about feeding a raw diet? I am going to feed my future Yorkie raw when I get one. I joined the raw feeding discussion group on Yahoo, and I have learned a lot. It is easier than you think, and a lot less expensive than you might expect as well. It is so much better for them than kibble. Anyway, ((((((hugs))))) to you and Denzel. I hope things go better for you all from here on out! Take care!:) |
i will do my research on raw food diet im not really familiar with it thank you if i have any questions i will be sure to contact you. thank you so much |

I also feed Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Venison. It's NOT the same as Nutro. Don't feed Nutro, they were involved in pet's getting sick & some dying & a major recall. NB SP&V only comes in regular bites, but my 4 love it & you know how picky Yorkies are...I think it's the SP. They also have NB SP & Fish, many on YT feed this & the Yorkies like it also. Deb (dwerten) gave you excellent advice. |
Hey Nesha, I am so glad Denzel is feeling better. Tessie and Hobbes send hugs and kisses. They eat Eukanuba and love it. I had a cairn terrier with allergies and he sometimes had to take prednisone and medicated baths so it is not uncommon. |

if you want immediate relief then temarilp as that has prednisolone and tavist (antihistamine) - clavamox is an antibiotic - the malaseb is used alot for skin issues - dd reacted to it though If the dog gets red spots or red all over after bath that means they are having an allergic reaction in the shampoo |

It sounds like you are getting a good handle on his allergy symptoms. I agree that a dermo doc would be excellent for the future. My dal had to be treated several times for sores caused by her allergies. |
yes i am trying to learn everything about allergies as i have some myself but it has not gotten this bad. ive had sinus infections before and they dont feel good so i know how it feels and being that my baby cant tell me. i fear for him however it has been almost a week 5 days now and Denzel seems to be doing better the spots on his stomach have cleared up i say about 75%. i have made changes with his linen and i am now going to start him on a new food tomorrow i am still thinking between natural choice and eukanuba. |
