What exactly is a babydoll face?
 
I keep reading ads on the internet for " babydoll" faced yorkies, what exactly is that? What other kind of face is there when they are little??? Laci does not have a long snout, to me she looks more like a ferrett then some yorkies, she also has very small ears... her picture is in my avitar , is she a babydoll faced dog or another kind?? I really like her looks and if/when I get another that is the " yorkie look" I am looking for!!
Id love to see the difference of a babydoll vs a reg yorkie??? This really is confusing because there are so many different looking yorkies!! I dont care for super huge ears and a really long snout, but what is correct???

I do not believe that babydoll face is a characteristic of a yorkie. I believe people use the term for the meaning of small or petite face, all around. But I could be wrong. Would not be the first time, ask my husband!:D

Babydoll face (cute round fluff face small ears, close set eyes)= more $$$ that's all. Just like how the term "teacup" is used in the advertisement.

Just b/c a pup has that "look" when they are young, they can have a growth spurt and look totally diff when they are full grown. Uni was short when she was a baby, she now has supermodel reindeer legs!

I just think of it as more of a description...teddy bear a little longer faced and baby doll is the smaller snout. Everyone takes it different though! LOL

My Pixie has a babydoll face. She is the adult in my Avatar with no topknot. My other two while they do not have long noses their noses are not as short. I personally like the "baby doll" face and would get another if I could.

I like the way your Pixie looks too... I love my little Lacis face as well... I just dont understand the term and what exactly the difference is... I was hoping someone would post a picture to see the difference!! From what I have read on here the " babydoll" face is incorrect!

Pixies furbaby and your Lacis has the look of a babydoll furbaby, very gorgeous. :thumbup: I agree the description is used for ''market'' value of the beautiful babies; the same as teacup and tiny are used.

My toy poodle has a baby doll face.. small head, very petite face and big eyes. When I get another poodle I will look for the same features. I really like the "baby doll" look especially on females.

hmm I would have to disagree on the "more money" part on the "baby doll" faced pups.. well, for my area anyways;)..here they arent anymore money than any other pup. I have seen them on the internet advertise as a little bit more, but I wouldnt get my dog off the internet anyways..:) I wasnt looking for a 'babydoll" faced pup when I was looking for my toy poodle. I didnt even know they exsisted untill I got Lexee.. which I only paid 400.00 for. However now that I own one, I will definitly be looking for that feature when I purchase my next pup, Ive seen some poodles with some really long snouts and I just prefer the shorter snout and smaller face.

Baby doll face is shorter snout small face big eyes,where as teddy bear is really fluffy head slightly longer snout.My Harley (avatar)has a baby doll face.

I love the smaller snouts I think they are just so adorable

My Rita (the one with the two pink pigtails in my avatar) looks like a "babyface" to me. Round face, short snout and the tinest ears you ever did see!

Yes, I agree with this, and although I love the look of the shorter snout, YTCA members are told not to use the terms doll face and teddy bear, as well as teacup in their advertising. The best way to see what a puppy will look like full grown is to look at the parents faces, owners can describe their dogs with whatever terms they wish, but avoid breeders who use these terms in their advertising because it wouldn't be considered ethical. Personally, I thought both terms meant a small snout, and teddy bear face just meant fluffier hair, but there is no official meaning.

Lol, I think we should just dub it the Marcel look!
