Just sending hugs and prayers to you and Buddy. I know how hard this is. Just know that you gave Buddy the best life he could have. He will always remember and love you for it. Hold him close and kiss him much.

I'm so sorry for you and Buddy. I just made that decision in March for my 16 yr old and am going to be facing it again with my 17 1/2 yr old. I had my baby cremated and will do the same for Heidi so that they can be buried with me when my time comes. The one thing that I was glad I did was hold her until the end and to have her footprint made so that it can be framed with her picture. Tell Buddy how much you love him while you have him and all my prayers go out to you.

I'm so sorry and I know theres nothign anyone can say to make it better, just know that you have given him a great full 16 years and he loves you so much :(

Sending you lots of hugs, my heart breaks for you and what you are going through. I know just reading what you wrote brings the tears flowing and I can\'t even imagine where to begin. Buddy is beautiful and a lucky boy to have had you love him and care for him. I, too, am crying with you, as I can see many more on here are too...As a senior, I\'ve been through this more times than I would like to remember...I always remind myself that it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all...I went through this 2 years ago this month, and I think the older you get, the harder it gets, because our "best friends" become so much more a part of our world, than when we were younger with so many things going on in our world...It took me a year and a half to finally decide to get my little Apple...I really wish, now, I had done it sooner...She didn\'t replace my love for Pebbles, she just started receiving all the love I have to give to my faithful companions...My prayers and my heart are with you...I pray you experience some peace in this time of difficulty...

I had to make that same decision exactly 1 year ago with my chihuahua, Stimpy. I loved him so much. He let me know. He looked just like Gidget, the Taco Bell dog, that just passed away. I hope he is chasing her around in doggy heaven. I took him to my son\'s work for him to say goodbye to him.I let him eat a taco bell taco before I took him to the vet. He hadn\'t eaten in 2 days, but he ate that! It\'s better to know than a surprise, I think.
The good thing is that I got Gunnar a few months later.

I am so, so sorry for the loss you are having to go through. Tears are filling my eyes as I read your first post, knowing the pain you are feeling. Remember the 16 wonderful years you and Buddy had and remember that we are here for you.

just wanted you to know my heart aches for you. Ive been there both with losing a dog and a child. Please know you will be in my prayers.

I\'m thinking about you & Buddy! I\'m sorry you\'re having to go through this.
I\'ll never forget my first dog that "I" got when I was 4 years old, Golden Retriever, Daisy. Never have I ever seen my dad cry before putting that dog down. She was 12 years old and she was his best buddy but she was my first dog. That was an upsetting day. Me & my dad went together to put her to sleep and we both just sat in the car and cried together. I still miss her.

My aunt put her 16 year old Pit Bull down last year and that was soo hard on her. She still has his ashes in her house.
