I do hope everything works out for you with finding the perfect dog. They are more than therapeutic:D |
You all have filled my heart with hope. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thinking optimistically, a friend of mine gave me an early birthday present. It's a cute little doggie bed. I have it hidden at my parent's house for now. One thing at a time. I'm just waiting for the allergy supplies to come that I ordered. We will see my husband's doctor this week. He also is a respiratory therapist and is treating Michael's asthma and allergies. He was the one who suggested a Yorkie. I like this doctor much better than Michael's former allergist. His past doctor said no dogs. This allergist said there's no reason why not. The doctor put Michael on Advaire for asthma, Singular, and Clariton for his allergies. I am praying that this works. My mother, who makes a point not to get in the middle of Michael and me, said she and a friend of mine are on a mission to get me a Yorkie. A female Yorkie in particular because I read females tend to cause less allergic reactions. My mother saw how I reacted to a pug puppy they were babysitting. I tired the puppy out. My mother said she hadn't seen me laugh and smile so much since before the accident. I must admit, I felt really good that day. Michael was around the pug for four hours and had no reaction. Although, he didn't try to touch the dog. My parents had rubbed something similar to Allerpet on the pug before we came. The only problem with a pug is that they shed...a lot. Thank you all again. I remain hopeful and determined. |
I'm sorry about your accident and pray for a complete recovery for both of you. As far as I'm concerned, a Yorkie is the very best medicine for anyone that ails. :D |
Prayers for a lil yorkie lovin to show up on your doorstep! |
This post made me cry there is so many sweet people here on this forum! I will be praying for your family about getting a Yorkie! My family is getting ready to own our sweet little Yorkie, a girl, 13 weeks old we've already named her Karlee and she joins our family in 2 more days (7-30) we are so excited to have her join our family. I have 2 sons, one who is VERY allergic to everything and dogs was one of the allergies that tested postive but thankfully he is not allergic to a Yorkie! I went through a order and had to have my right kidney removed due to cancer at the age of 28...it was all a blessing to be found when it was though and its been 2 1/2 years since my surgery and I'm sitting her cancer free. I was pregnant with my second son and just by a maricle...a blessing from God He let me have a second child at the right time because due to the way my son laid it caused pressure on the kidney that had a tumor in it with a kidney stone blocked by a cancerous tumor...I started having major issues with kidney stones and that's what lead to finding I had cancer. After I had my son then 12 weeks later I had to have my right kidney completely removed...2 surgeries within 12 weeks (my son was born by c-section) thankfully the cancer was contained to the kidney so it had not spread and God blessed me! After a lot of prayers before the surgery the tumor was 3 inches...after the surgery the pathology report showed the tumor at only 1 1/2 inches! God shrunk it by HALF!!!! I was truly blessed...About 6 months ago I started getting a little sad over the fact that I would not be able to have anymore children and I started doing research on Yorkie's. I found it would be the best pet for my family for my son with his allergies and for me to have a little one around the house since I can not have anymore children. I think it will definatly be a great choice for our family to have this little sweet girl puppy join our family. After reading about your story with your motorcycle accident it sounds like now that you are recovering that this would be a great choice for your family too. I will continue to pray if it be God's will then you guys have have a sweet little Yorkie I do believe in the power of prayer and its always a good idea to pray before any big decision and I feel getting a Yorkie is a pretty big decision its a life changing event to a have new family member join the house! Please update us on what decision and how things are going. I truly wish you the best of luck and will be praying! |
A yorkie is exactly what you need .Good luck and keep us posted.:) |

Yorkie prayer I am very touched by the people who pray for others. I will add you to my prayer list. I have had other dogs before and I can say by no others have I had so much love but by these dogs (yorkies). They are a True blessing from God. May God Bless you with your desire. And help you heal. Ask and it will be given to you, Cheryl |
Welcome to YT!! I'm sorry to hear of your accident. Yorkies are little miracles, and I pray for a miracle for you!! God bless!! I will also pray for a complete recovery for you and your husband. |
Thank you, everyone. This really is a great site. I've been looking at all the information, including the section on dog food. What a wonderful job of posting so others like me can learn. Starr723, it sounds like you have had an awful run, but thank God your cancer was caught. God bless you all and may a female Yorkie puppy make it into our home soon. |
Prayers for you and your DH, that just the right little Yorkie finds you. There's nothing quite so right as being own by one of these angels. They converted my DH and has changed him so much for the better. I know one will do the same for ya'll. Just a word of caution though...they're addictive, once hooked you may not be able to stop at one. :p We're up to 3 and it's all I can do to stop DH from bringing a 4th into the house. :D |
Lol, Teresa. What a great adiciton to have. I pray it rubs off on Michael. |
Just curious as to any updates! When are you going to test out having a yorkie over? I hope that you both have a positive experience and your very own will be coming soon! |
If we didn't have prayer this world would be a sad and lonely place. Prayers gladly coming. |
