| The huffing is their laugh. When they run making this noise they are running for the joy of it and laughing and having a grand 'ol time. Gracie Ruth & Yogi both do this sound, especially at night during their zoomies. They also love to have the backs scratched and will toss their heads back and forth and squirm around making this noise. I make the noise with them and they just do it all the more. I love the huffing & they love when I huff with them. They huff all the more and will shower me with kisses when I join in. That's why he comes running when he hears you do it, he wants to join in with you with whatever is making you happy. So huff away and have fun with your boy!!

| I can't believe I'm reading a post on huffing! I was just thinking about that this morning when we came in from our walk. Buddy "Huffs" when he is told to do something, like sit so I can remove his harness. He huffed at me because he wanted to run through the house when we came back in and I told him to sit! When he's annoyed with me he actually "Huffs". Drives me up the wall. A dog has the nerve not to have patience with me. ![]() Who would believe such a thing? Sounds like your little one is not much different. They are just too smart for their butts. |

, and she'll do that single huff when she doesn't like being told to do something. The happy huffing is a bunch of huffs put together in a row and sounds almost like they are panting, or out of breath. But you know there's no reason for them to be out of breath. Unfortunately I think Buddy is expressing his displeasure, much like my girl does. When she's really miffed theres a yammering grrrr that follows the single huff. I answer back to her real fast, "Excuse me?!!" and she'll drop her ears and stick her nose up at me with a little smile on her face, wag her tail, "Luv you Momma" "Yeah, I thought that's what you meant."

| I LOVE the yammering grrrrrr........ the pitch goes all over the place. A friend was over and looked horrified and assumed that he was growling! I love it! I just sit and laugh.... the noises that come out of these little fur babies are absolutely unbelievable! |

| YT 1000 Club Member | Sometimes Roxie sounds like she's purring like a cat but it's a growl. Cracks me up. Then there's the bark that's really long. It reminds me of this, woofffffffffffffffffffff ffff fffff fffff. Does anyone understand that? lol! Sounds like she's not going to be able to catch her breath.
