#3!?!?!
 

So...yesterday we went Disneyland and we had fun there. But the night before I talked to my sister (who has our babies grandmother...Lace) about her yorkie and she asked me if I would like to take her. She is an older yorkie, 8 years old (9 in December) and such a sweet heart. She has a nice set up at my sisters but for some reason she is allergic to something. I think it is the grass in the back because growing up we had a dog that was allergic to it also. Long story short, she was outside a lot and my sister though it would be best if I took her. I told Jer about it and he was on a mission..he was a bit upset (and so was I) that they kept her outside so much so that she was so uncomfortable. So after watching the fireworks at Disneyland we went and picked her up. we got home at about 3 somthing in the morning. We got her settled in and went to sleep.
She is a sweet little thing, and just loves belly rubs. She will lay on her back and just look at you and if you ignore her she licks your hand and then plops down on her back. They have her competely shaved down but she is such a doll. I never realized how small she was 5 1/2 pounds.
My sister took her a bath before we picked her up last night and I am going to go to the store and see if I can find something for her skin. She has been itching it off and on. I also think that maybe with a higher quality food she may itch less. I think her allregy was from the backyard but you just never know. Does anyone have any suggestions. She itches mostly on her back legs.

So now it looks like we have #3.:rolleyes: She is such a doll and a pleasure, and maybe she will teach the pups some manners...hehe...;) It is so funny because she reminds me of Bella. I'll post some pictures as soon as I download them.

She has been following me to each room and finding a spot to sleep. We are calling our house her retirement home. She is so calm and relaxed...:)

oh, look how red and itchy her bum looks in that last picture. Bless you for giving her this wonderful 'retirement' home. I've gotten Itch Relief shampoo from my vet before, it worked wonders & was no more expensive then any other shampoo. Aveeno oatmeal bath is a good thing for itchy skin too.

She is a cutie ;) What are you feeding your other 2? It might be food allergies causing the itching but if you think it is environmental, you could ask the vet for allergy meds or even Benadryl can sometimes help. I hope she was on heartworm meds since you said she was spending so much time outdoors. :( It sounds like a trip to the vet is needed for a HW test/meds and allergy meds and medicated shampoo too. :)

I know. :( she took her a bath last night and I wanted to find some sort of shampoo that may help it...but I don't want to over wash her and irritate her skin further. She itches her back legs and the bottom of her tummy. She is already itching less... So it had to be enviromental.

The twins saw her, I don't want to overwhelm her too much. So I let her sniff at their xpen. They are ready to play. :) but I want her to settle in. We use to have playdates with her and Suri and they had a great time. ...so I have not doubt they will get along.

I can't believe we have three now, but we talked about it and we are able to so we did. She is going to get spoiled just as much as our twins. Jer is already in love with her and our soon to be ex roommate wants to adopt her! But she is going to live out her life as a spoiled yorkie with us...as it should be!

We have our pups on Wellness...so we are going to get her sone of the Wellness senior. I know they have kibble for allergies and we are going to ask the vet because a few of the foods like Avoderm she found made it worse. She went to the vet not too long ago and had a heart worm test and her teeth clean. She wasn't really too concerned about the itching but I don't think it was that bad when she went for that check up. She is due for her vaccinations soon so we are going to go in and get her another check up and get her vaccinations. We need to go in also for the twins to talk to the vet about there rabies shot. It will be a family trip. :P

congrats on the new addition! she is very cute and i'm sure will fit right in with your two babies.

I'd just switch her to the wellness asap. Since its a good quality food it might be the only thing needed to help with the allergies. Wellness has their regular small dog kind and senior food, plus is has Simple Solutions for allergy cases and Core with no grains.

She is incredibly adorable and looks like a total lover. I hope her itchies go away w/ the food switch. :)

Aww I am so glad you brought her to your home. Hopefully you can get the itching stopped by food change and her new environment.

She's a doll. Very sweet face. She does look like a mushburger. Good luck with her. She is with you for a reason. I'm sure she will fit right in. You will wonder what you ever did without her.

Also, you can use childrens Benadryl to help with the itiching. I also use Wellness food for my one year old and the Senior food for my 13 year old. They love the food.

Try the Benadryl for some relief while you determine what is going on

Congrats on your new baby - she is so cute. I fostered and then adopted a 10 year old yorkie about a year ago and she is the best dog ever.

I have one who had really bad itchy skin and hot spots. Never figured out why or what was causing it. Vet couldn't find anything either. One night I was so upset because she was in so much pain and I didn't know what to do for her.

I went to target and bought everything Aveeno I could find LOL
I bought her Aveeno baby wash, Aveeno oatmeal soaks, Aveeno baby shampoo and an Aveeno soothing oil.

I filled up sink with lukewarm water and put in an Aveeno oatmeal packet. I let her soak for awhile - I didn't use anything else on her. I did this for about a week and thank God it completely went away. Hope this helps

Buddy has been on k/d since his kidneys shut down more than a year ago and has been doing great!!

Than he had a stroke and has been on a/d. He just had his stroke last week, but I'm praying he has the same results. Plus, I think I might mix the two, so he get the nutrition of both.

Shoot...not a retirement home...she probably thinks she's at Sandals with all that luxurious indoor living she's getting!

Natural Balance has a food for allergies that can be fed to all ages. We switched our kidz to it & Keegan, the itcher, has responded extremely well to it.

She looks so sweet! Congrats on the new addition! So glad she's with you!

She is having fun here. :) We were able to get her a medicated shampoo and conditioner and also some liquid hydrocortisone. So we bathed her and applied the liquid and it has helped a bit. We are going to pick up some food for her today at the Pet Deli. She is already fitting right in... She follows us in each room and lays on her back to scratch her tummy. :)
Last year or the year before... They had a lot of problems with her teeth and they had to get some pulled. I think the food they were giving her was damaging her teeth. :( So I brushed her teeth with the stuff my sister was using but is there something we can put in her water? I saw the ones at the store but I remember there was one everyone recommended.

She kept wanting to see the babies so I let them out to play for a few minutes. :) they did great but I don't want to overwhelm her. :)
