My yorkie died yesterday
 
I have had two yorkies. My first llived 15 years and my second died yesterday at 10 years old. I am a widow and have no living relatives so I do not have to explain that both Scampi and then Alfie were both my children subs and my reason for being. It's a difficult time and I will hope to find another yorkie to share my life. I have been introduced by internet to a Morkie who is five years old and seems to already to have many of the same habits and behavior patterns of Alfie but I will not make a quick decision on our future. I am rambling but I just needed to put this out there. I took Alfie to be cremated today and I am hurtinng badly thanks for giving me a place to vent.

I\'m so sorry for your loss. How lonely you must be. Yes these animals are to a lot of people our children and the loss of a child is devastating. When you feel up to it, let us know a little more about your kids.

Joan -- I am so sorry for your loss. I know we become so attached to these loving little dogs, that it hurts terribly when we lose them. I hope you find the right addition when the time is right for you. Good that you are not rushing to it. Take your time, allow yourself some grieving time. It does get a little easier as time goes on. You will find more and more opportunities to smile at the memories.

Welcome to YT; I just wish you were finding us on a happier occasion. But sometimes, grief is what brings us here. At least here, everyone understands and empathizes with you.

It\'s never easy losing a beloved pet I know and only
time will heal your broken heart. I think it\'s wonderful
your heart is open to another when the time is right
for you.
No other dog will replace the beloved ones you have lost
but it will certainly fill in the empty places in your heart
and make you smile again.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know no words can heal your pain.
This March I lost a little shih tzu who meant the world to me. I am not widowed but I have only one living relative who lives far away. Needless to say I am still devastated. I know what it means to be lonely and how these precious animals keep us sane and alive.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May god or whatever higher being you might believe in, enlighten your heart and bring many blessings and carry you through the emotional rollercoaster that is pet loss.

Welcome to YT. I am so sorry for the pain you\'re feeling over the loss of Alfie and Scampi. They do become our children don\'t they? Please know that we all are here for you to vent to, cry to, whatever you feel like. In time I hope the memories you have of both of your babies will bring more smiles than tears.
