Hello everyone, I had to put my little boy to sleep last Tuesday because he was suffering terribly. He was 14 years old. 3 years ago he was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and on top of that his little kidneys were failing. He heart grew so big that it started pressing against his lungs causing him to cough non-stop and then gasp for air. We took him to the Vet and they said his kidneys were not processing any food and he was dehydrated. If they treated his heart, it would affect his kidneys and if they treated his kidneys, he would have a massive heart attack. It was a no-win situation and I did not want to see my little boy suffer any more. I miss him terribly. He was the best dog ever!

Aw, so sorry about your baby. It is very difficult to make these kinds of decisions. I applaud you for careing enough for your baby to make this choice. It sounds like he had a wonderful life with you and was very loved. It's hard to let go, but if you just keep your memories of him he will always be in your heart. Til you meet at the bridge. Bless you and bless your little guy. May he rest in peace.

Welcome. I'm so sorry to hear of your little ones passing. It's never easy to let them go. Please feel free to come here and post about him as often as you need. We all love Yorkies and love to hear Yorkie stories. :hug:

Thank you. I didn't know where to turn to and I found this board. It is difficult to share these feelings with those who have never loved a pet. Here he is with my other little one, Rosita :-) Yorkies are the best, aren't they? We would carry a conversation in the mornings. He would start yapping and I would ask him "What is it that you want, Remymonious?" And he would run to the kitchen and hit his food bowl.

I am glad that he lived a long life, and I am happy that you got some good memories of your beloved pet. :littleang I love the story you shared about your conversation with your dog. I thought the story was very cute. It is hard losing a pet, but he will always be in your heart.:hug:

I am so sorry to hear of your loss your little one. I am glad you found us as we know how devastating it is too lose one of our babies. I am glad you had 14 years with him and that you have Rosita to help you through.

Welcome to YT. So sorry to hear about your little baby. You\'ll find there are people on here who will understand you like no one else does. I\'m glad you have Rosita to help you through this time. As for the conversation, boy do I understand that one! Sometimes I think I talk to my 2 furbabies more than humans...or at least that they understand me better! Keeping you in my thoughts as you go through the loss.

I am so sorry... I wish doggies could live longer than humans... my husband looks at my dog every day and says "you are going to live to be 80 like me, right?" because our doggie is our baby... and I can\'t imagine not having him in our lives.. I am so sorry for your loss...

I am a Christian, but I do believe dogs go to heaven! Because God wouldn\'t place something in our lives, so close to our hearts, and not have a special place for these creatures when they pass!

I am so sorry you lost your little Remy. For us that have gone through it we know too well how bad it hurts to lose one. Time helps but it is very hard. Just try to remember the good times. RIP, little angel.

Thank you all so much. My little boy was so special to me. He wasn\'t the perfect Yorkie. His ears kept growing so they flopped a bit and he was a little larger than the average Yorkie. He looked like the flying nun with those funny ears lol But he was the sweetest being alive. He would wait for me by the window every day. When I would drive off to work, there he was by the window with the saddest look and he would stay there until I arrived. His tail would wag like a helicopter propeller. My brother would say that one of these days he would just take off. I miss him my angel so much.

I want to express my sympathy for your loss. I know you and Rosita will miss Remy so very much. It is so hard to lose one of these precious babies after they have made such a huge place in our heart. I hope the pain eases and you can be comforted by sweet memories.

Thanks for coming on here and sharing! I am sorry about your poor boy, but you have to know that you made the best choice for him! He was such a doll and many on here can understand your feelings, we all love our poochies just like they were our children!

Today his ashes came home. How small my little boy was. They showed me a box at the hospital that was 8 x 8 and that is what I expected. They handed my husband this very small trinket box. I held it to my heart and wept. Such a beautiful soul. He\'s in a better place now. We\'ll meet again, my little prince.

I remember my feelings when they handed me that little box that contained my Max\'s ashes. I know how you feel cause I still feel that way. I am sending prayers to you and your family.
