Big yorkies How many of you have yorkies 10 plus lbs. And is there a big yorkie club, if not there should be. They say the perfect yorkie is 7 lbs are less but i think they are all perfect and we are the lucky ones, what do you think. |
There is a "club" on here... I think it's called the Teapot club! lol. And yes, my Jackson is 14lbs of Yorkie love! :) Love his size! |
Yorkies are cute no matter what their size  |

It's so funny when we had a mini YT meet up here in Maryland and I saw Jackson around the other Yorkies, I was like  omg, you're a monster! lol. I always thought he seemed sooo small to me until I saw him around a 4lb Yorkie, lol |
My Preston will be 2 tomorrow:cake4: :D:Birthday3 He weighed 15 lbs last time we weighed him. He could probably stand to loose a bit, but I love him in all his big ole goofy glory!! |
Zeke is 13 lbs and Zack is around 11 lbs. Our other Yorkies were 4-5 lbs and around 8 lbs when they died Jan 08. Love em all, big or small. |
Cash has topped out at 10lbs at 2 and a half years. He has been picking up weight and we think he is borderline overweight - if he gains more, he will be overweight. June is an itty bitty baby at 50 ounces (1,5 kg) at 5 months. She seems soooooo tiny! I hope she reaches like 5lbs. Hehe, it would have been wrong for Cash's big personality to be in a smaller body ;) I love them both sizes, it is just really weird bathing them. I wash this big dog and then this tiny puppy. Really weird - my hands feel much too big for June! |
It's great to hear from all of you, we feel the same way about ours |
YES!! i have a little tea pot lol he is sooo cute at 13lbs i think he is TINY, when i take him to my friends house tho along next to her lab he looks sooo small! l love the teapots yay hehe!! <3 |
Fiona is about 11 lbs! Love it! :D |
Where is this teapot club? Bailey is 9.5 & Buster is 12 pounds. They're bigger than I thought they'd be (I was told they'd get to be 6lbs & 8lbs full grown) but I love them so much!! When they're around other yorkies they look like monsters, but around any other dogs they look like little peanuts!! Where is this teapot club I keep hearing about? |
I don't know, lets ask |
Our Trixie is around 13 lbs. I was promised by the breeder she would only get to be around 6 lbs. :D She's my husbands' favorite of our 5 yorkies, though, and we wouldn't trade her for anything! |
Buddy is 16.3lbs. Yes, there is a Teapot club. Link was just posted for you on another thread. Welcome, |
you know what's funny? we all flip out a little if anyone says "teacup yorkie" (I know, because there is NOT such a thing, and it promotes bad breeding, marketing ploy, etc.) but we love the term teapot yorkie. I have one of each (just under 5 and just over 19 pounds) and love my tea "whatever's" equally! and my moose is got to be about the biggest yorkie I ever saw...I brought him with me from Scotland. |

Shelby & Seymour are both 7+ lbs. They are a little over 8! Shelby has lost a little weight now so she is about 8# 2 oz. (they are a few ounces overweight still and probably would be ideal at a little over 7#. There are lots of bigger Yorkies here on Yorkietalk.... and you are right..... we are lucky to have each and every one. :) |
big yorkie my big boy is 4 months old and weighing in at 6 pounds, the vet says he might get up to about 15. thats fine with me i love him either way, but, whenever i bring him out with me (i bring him everywhere) people say oh whats he mixed with? im like nothing!! they think hes too big to be a pure bred yorkie, and I know he is!!! it makes me SO MAD because these people only know the tiny ones and I did my homework before i bought one and i dont want a tiny thing that can be broken and have all the health issues associated with having a so-called teacup(even tho theyre cute). but anyways, has anyone else ever had this problem? people acting like if theyre not 5lbs theyre not a pure bred??? |

Did you get it |
2 Attachment(s) Tucker was weighed last at 12 lbs. he was 9 lbs forever. I have been doing more active stuff with him though and can still feel his ribs, so I think it must all be muscle! I'd also liek the link to the club. I heard of the teapot club but never knew there was a link to anything. What does the link go to? Hmmmmm:animal-pa |

Me. Fido went for his checkup yesterday and the vet told me he had to loose weight, he is just muzzles on his feet but on his stumach and back, there is a bit of fat,but i walk at least 1 hour a day with him  I have to put him on some diet food for fat doggies, and go on a daily bikeride so he will loose weight. |
