Uni's $100 ID tag 1 Attachment(s) Well here was my thread yesterday about getting her licensed. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-licenses.html Yes it was $100 bucks and yes I had to pay, otherwise I would have gotten a $75 non compliance fee on top of that. Needless to say, Uni is getting spayed before next year so I will only have to pay $24 instead. Oh and the tag was so cheaply produced. As I took it out of the plastic seal I almost cut my finger because the back edge was so super sharp. I had to file it down so it wouldn't cut Uni's hair or skin. Fees are outta control in CA! grrrrr!!! :thumbdown |

The state Govt along with HSUS and Animal Rights (Not Animal Welfare) Activists are on the march to take our rights as pet owners, attempting to balance their budget on the backs of our dogs. |
That reminds me...I have received two notices about licensing Cooper. Better get on that. Ugh! |
Thats crazy. Where does the money go? I hope into the shelters.. |
Yea, don't let them take more of your hard earned money with more and more fees! You're lucky they gave you some time with two notices. I got one notice and on the top of it, it said in big red letters "FINAL NOTICE". What? that was my first notice! |
Ladies Ladies Ladies. Don't you know why it's so much in Ca. ? I wish they would do that more places. When is the last time you went to a shelter there? The shelters are so over populated in Southern California it's ridiculous. 3 to 8 dogs per kennel in most places. Most shelters in S. Ca. are not no kill shelters. If an owner turns in a dog over half of the time the shelter euths the dog immediately because they don't have the space for the dogs. It's only that much if your dog is unaltered, it's much less if altered. They are pushing spay and neuter this their way of trying to control the situation. I lived in Riverside County for 11 yrs, too many dogs when I first moved there. But when I left it was appalling to see all the dogs. Maybe you should take a drive to a few shelters, walk the isles , look into all those innocent eyes and then maybe you will have a different opinion on those fees. If you don't plan to breed you should have your pets altered. The shelters are full of accidents. |
P.S. That's the only fee I DO Agree with in Ca. That and when Arnold passed the law that says your dog can not live it's life on a chain.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup ::thumbup: |
Then you are not familiar with what bills are now being passed. That L.A. County kill rate in shelters has increased 27% over the pas year. And it's costing the government more money than it's worth. And the Govt has cut back the budget to help fund those shelters. I agree with liscensing your pets....My dogs aren't driven, they aren't on the highways, they are in my backyard or in my house. I'm on a soapbox at this moment....read the legislatiion that is being attempted to be past on the AKC website. Big Brother is taking over. With the California budget in the toilet, I think it would be best for Congress to focus on balancing it. |

A dog being tied to a chain is in my contract if, I have the right to confiscate the dog should that be being done. |
wow we only pay 10.00 a year here per dog |
I am glad that is all cleared up now, sorry about the unexpected cost. |
The only thing I see is about not being able to have more then 50 intact animals. Is that what you are referring to ? |

wellbeing. H$U$ has stated that they intend to first get this bill (min of 50 intact animals) into every state in the nation. THEN - they intend to lower the number every year!!! |
I'm not sure what all those are , I tried to pull it up and got no where . Can you PM me what those are? |

Do a google search on AB 241, 242, 243....you'll read from the aspect of those that are in favor....they are closely tied to HSUS and PETA/AR activists not animal welfare |
That's the same here. I now have to drive 45 minutes to avoid this charge. BUT, out of this I also found thee best vet that I ever could! He's an farm vet but what Buddy's been through I can afford him! In the city they charge like 10 times more for the care he has had. |
Is this lisence fee just for dogs that are registered? I've never heard of having to have this. I just know that she has to have a rabies tag but no one here seems to be anal enough to check every dog around. Also don't kid yourselves to think the money goes into the shelters because that's why everythings in a big mess now. Nothing ever is done the way it should be. |

In Idaho you can get a lifetime licence for around $45.00. I pay $38.00 a year for car tags and $94.00 a month for house and auto(full coverage auto) for both cars at that price. This is why I got the hell out of Ca. Just too much BS there. Just trying to figure out what took me so long. I can say it's the best thing I ever did. |

I'd forgotten how California beat you to death with this fee and that fee. And all the liberal attitudes. And the population seems to be overrun with entitelists. |

Also I will ask her today what the fee is for that county. |
We are in Riverside County and we have to pay $50 for tags a year. I am waiting on the rabies shots and will just buy them at the same time. So it will be about $56 for the shot and the license. |
Wow! I just bought licenses for my two Tuesday and for spayed and neutered it was 6.00 each. Unspayed and un-neutered is 8.00 each. I did notice last night though that the chick who did them for me left the Treasurer's copy attached to my copy. I need to find out about that. That's never happened before. It's always something... |
here in england there is no dog license at all  |
