I am fine with an Xpen or confining her to a totally puppy-proofed space, but I am not one to crate my dog. JMO. Many dogs find a crate as their den, but Maddy is not one of those. She will mess and thrash herself against the metal and bark and cry all day. She has always hated a crate... she prefers laying on the couch on a down comforter  Lol. |
I know that it may sound like a ridiculous comparison to some. But when suggesting to think of an animal as one would a toddler it is meant that an animal has a "mind similar to that of a very young child". I would not suggest putting a child in a cage/kennel/crate, however, we do use cribs, playpens, walkers, baby seats, etc. to confine a child to a safe environment when the child can not be in Moms arms:) As for not liking a crate, have you tried a large crate with her down comforter inside? lol If you can bear it, she will get used to it if allowed to acclimate herself to it. |
Just confine her to the kitchen or laundry area with something to sleep on, her food and water, pee pad and some toys. She might prefer to wander the house, but at least you'll know she'll be safe when you get back and hubby won't throw any fits....at least not about his electronics. |
I'm glad to hear that things have calmed down. I bet Maddy is glad too. Poor Maddy. Poor DH. I bet they have "kissed" and made up. Just very glad Maddy didn't get hurt and the electronics are back to normal.:) |
