Poor baby. I can't believe they didn't take care of her! That is outrageous! Mine all stay at home with my dad when we go on vacation. My dad lives with us and he knows how I take care of my babies. He gives the same love and care I do. The last time I went on vacation I had a really good friend of mine take care of my girls and their babies. My dad had the rest. I only leave them with family or really great friends that I trust!:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Oh my god that is horrible should report her to whatever city you live in for animal abuse. |

So sorry this happened to Marley! |
BTW there are good boarding facilities. I left my JR and first Yorkie at one for 4 days once. My toys and dishes were kept with them, they used the food & treats I brought, my bag had dated baggies and the appropriate ones were gone when I picked them up, my dogs were bathed, groomed, and happy when I picked them up, they did answer the phone each day when I called to check on them, they had logs of every potty outing they got (6 per day), it was entirely different from the horrible experience you had. I also visited unexpectedly before I left them there. I saw the place in operation and it was all neat, clean, and being run like clockwork. The workers all seemed to genuinely love the dogs and gave them lots of attention. I got a "window" suite, with a little toddler bed for mine. They had lots of room to play and look out on the world. Course their lodging cost almost as much as ours, but it was worth it to know they were well spoiled. Just adding that so you might think about it again some day when you have other choices besides this place that let you down. |
Update!! sOooOO..... I talked to the lady at the kennel again. She told me that she talked to the vet here on base and even though he told her that the bacterial infection Marley contracted was the kind you get from a kennel that he couldnt say she got it from there.. WHAT THE HELL!!! So therefore no refund. She also told me the 3 days of playtime that I paid for were not rendered so she could only give me a refund for that. What a load of BS. I was on the phone with her for at least 15 minutes going around and around. To add insult to injury the lady even offered Marley to come back!! at a discount price! HAHA! What a joke. She said this because she insisted that Marley was a happy-go-lucky dog and had fun at the kennel and I could bring her back and see for myself. Makes me want to puke just thinking about taking her back the that hell-hole. I told her that I will never do business with them and that I will tell other people of my experience and she said " oh i understand, I have two cats and I know what if feels like to want the best care for your animals" yea yeah whatever.... So I went to the IG( Inspector General ) on base here. That is the equivalent of the BBB for the military and filed a complaint. I wrote out a loooong, point by point letter of why I want to be reimbursed and vet bills paid. The man I spoke with and that is dealing with my case said he understands because he has a dog too he considers family but nothing will probably come of it because we can't prove that she got it from there even though all red flags point to them. I am at my wits end. Even though nothing might come of this I want to make it known all over this base that the kennel is a piece of crap and to never take your pets there. He still said he will try his hardest to get something accomplished. He sent me all the paperwork to get started on this via email and I have started the process and spoke with the appropriate people. Wish me luck guys. I'm not even doing this for the money. I could care less. I'm doing this for Marley. |
I'm so sorry to hear about the awful experience. Yes, you have to trust your gut. Nobody loves our animals like we do, unless they are family. Maybe next time you can get a close friend or family member to come to your house to stay. That's what I'm doing for my vacation this year. Now, I realize just how fortunate I am that my son and daughter in law are coming here to keep the babies. I just can't imagine what you and your baby went through. So, so sorry. |
good luck me and denzel are praying for you please keep everyone updated :) |
I do hope your baby recovers well. Totally unacceptable. Well reading this thread has made me feel rather nervous as Im putting Tia in kennels this Aug for a week.Ive visited them twice and they fell in love with her and the owner carried her around and Tia loved her , in fact I didn't think the owner was going to hand her back. Anyway we checked it out and it was clean and the dogs looked well cared for. Asked lots of questions . I noticed one of the staff was brushing a dog and I asked do you offer a grooming service then ? and the reply was no but every year this dog comes to us in a poor condition and we do a full groom for free. I was quite impressed by that, and small dogs are seperated from the big ones. Ill let you know how we get on. Did your baby need to have the kennel cough vaccine? Most uk kennels require you to do so. I would send a review if they advertise their kennels but I just hope your baby has a full recovery. |
