When I got Toby at 11 weeks both ears were down. He's 14 weeks now, last week one went up, and this week the other went up. I'm not counting on them staying up though as I know teething will effect it. Either way both up, both down, or one and one he's cute :) I'm glad I have pictures of him in all 3 stages hehe. |
When I first got Jackson, he was 14 weeks old and both ears down. They were super floppy and didn't show any sign of perking up. After reading the advice on here, I took him to the groomer to have his ears shaved... a week later, still down. Then I started massaging his ears when he was cuddled up with me on the couch (which let's face it, was a lot) and kazow! About two weeks after starting this process his ears both perked right up and have been up since. Thanks for the good advice everyone! |
Chewie is 12 weeks old today and I've had the same problem. I used to put paper with eyelash glue in his ears but I was so clumsy it never looked right. I should add that he is like a little whirldwind when I touch his ears . Then I tried surgical tape. I put some in my hair and it didn't hurt when I removed it but around his ears I had the hardest time to take that off. I guess I'll try later again if I find some good stuff to remove the tape. I heard of massaging and I do it every chance I get. Well just with that his right ear is doing a good job of looking almost up and his left ear is propped a little more too. To shave the tip of his ears I have a cordless chromini clipper. I do it while he's asleep on my lap and although it takes a while it gets done. To cut the hair at the edge of his ears I use kid's scissor. They have rounded edge, sharp enough to cut the hair but I would have to press rather hard to cut his ear I think. |
