Newborn in Gulfport ms needs urgent home and help I did not know where to post this so I am placing it where the most people will see it. Someone I know had a littler of yorkies today. The baby girl was born with a cleft pallet. She is not able to care for her. The baby must be tube fed NOT bottle fed. This baby girl needs someone to feed her and care for her. There is no fee for her and we will give you the tubes and milk for her. You must have lots of time on your hands as she must be fed every 2 hours. Please email me for my phone number if you would be able to come pick up this baby. cheyene67@hotmail.com |

Praying someone who can help sees this thread! :angel2: |

Thank you! I am hoping someone wants a little girl! She is purebred and will be around 3lbs. Just a tiny girl. I want to add I did not breed this baby. Her mom is only 3lbs I would not have bred her that small! |
|
Oh there must be someone who lives close to you who can help with this little girl! I wish I wasn't so far away! |
|
How bad is her cleft, do you know? Can it eventually be repaired? Oh my goodness.... |

That is the information from the clinic in Saucier. But even though it is not bad she still can not nurse or bottle feed. It would go into her lungs. Poor baby. I'm praying to find someone soon. |

I'm talking to my husband about it. He thinks I've lost my mind:rolleyes: I'm in NE Texas, 7 hours from you one way. But I can't get her off of my mind. Poor little thing at least needs a chance. |

Breny has a baby with a cleft pallet.. she knows quite a bit about it.. her baby survived.. I have tube fed.. and Gracie survived but I only had to tube feed every two hours night and day.. it is a very tough job to go so long with our sleep.. if a person had some one in the same house hold that could help with the nights.. allowing a person to sleep 4 hours it is much better.. I am praying this baby finds some one that can do this..I know there is some one out there that just might do this.. anne |

7 hours wow! Tell him she is a beautiful 4 ounce baby girl! we are doing all we can tonight. She got 1cc at 8 and most of a cc just a few moments ago. I have the morning shift but I don't know what will happen after that. I am praying she finds someone by the end of tomorow. |

I hope you are able to find someone near you. I would happily volunteer in I weren't so far away. There has to be someone in your vicinity. Keep us updated ~ please! |

you and your friend sound like you have things handled, so far. hopefully if we keep this thread out front, it will get seen by someone that can help! |

My husband and I are retired..but I'm ONLY 51, lol!! We have plenty of time, and lots of dog experience. I tube fed a basset hound puppy once, but it was a long time ago. I don't necessarily want another dog, but if I could keep her well, I know I could find her a good home. She's just tugging at my heartstrings. |
|
 I will do that! |

I have no doubt once she is over the first 2-3 weeks everyone would want her! But it's those first few weeks that are so hard. I am happy if she just gets a chance to grow up. I know she would be loved and cared for if someone put that many hours into her they would not let just anyone have her.. I also know that anyone willing to do this must have a heart of gold and she would be in good hands. We have no experts here and there were tears at both tube feedings. All anyone can do is try. |
|
I would be crying, too! I can't imagine having to tube feed! It probably feels like you are hurting the baby.......one of those "it's for your own good" things!! you're doing a great job!! Hope betsi can help!! |
|
Oh, I would love to have her,I too was born with a cleff palet, so I know all to well . I would not have the time to tube feed her, i would love to give her a home though. Since my sassy died at 3 months, I have been longing for another, but we spent so much trying to keep her alive at the end. I cannot afford to buy one anytime soon. |
|
aww I sure hope someone gets her soon... keep us posted... |
|
If we were just closer, I would take her NOW! I'm going to call my vet in the morning to see if he'll give me a little break on her medical expenses. He might..he's a really nice young man, and we hit it off quite well. Do you happen to have a picture of her? I'm so glad you are trying so hard to give her a chance. Bless you all! Is the rest of the litter healthy? Are the parents healthy? I guess I'm asking if you really think she has a chance... |

Sounds like she has a chance if an angel like you comes along and gives her a chance :) |

Her medical expensis could be anything, she could get phnumonia if she gets any fluid in her lung. The surgery should not be too bad. The cleft is quite small. Her Mom is healthy and so is the Dad. She was born with a brother and he is just fine. she is a good birth weight...so yes. I think she has a chance. I will be more comfortable saying that in the morning. The girl who has her has been up a long time. I'm praying she can keep it up through the night until I can get ahold of her. |
|
having the knowledge that help is on the way in the morning, might be enough for your friend to persevere! I'll be checking on the babies well-being first thing in the morning. Prayers.......good night! |
|
I hope your friend AND the puppy make it through the night. I'm so glad you can take over in the morning! If anyone else lives closer to Gulfport and is willing to take her, then by all means do what is best for the puppy. My dear hubby is sound asleep, so I can't talk this over with him til morning. Hold on to life sweet baby girl:luvu: |

I am on the other side of Pensacola. I have not tube fed, but have cared for a litter of 5 when their mom died. I did the every 2 hour feedings and they all made it just fine. I do have other dogs here: an 17 yo dachshund, a Jack Russell, and 2 male Yorkies (one 3 yrs old and one 4 months old). I am retired. I would be willing to take the little one and nurse her through the next few months. |
|
Please just make sure she is fed every two hours.. that is most important the consistency in her eating.. if it is not every two hours she can and will go down fast.. Tube feeding is not that hard once you feel comfortable and know what to do and what to watch for.. if I do not feel the tube is going in right, I pull it out and try again..I found the hardest part was the loss of sleep.. first few nights were ok.. but after days turn into a week.. I was going just for gracie.. I always make sure they are fussing.. if they are fussing it seems to show me the tube is in the right place..gee it is hard to explain.. |

I'm going to Pensacola next week and I'd be willing to help if the owner can care for the baby for another week. I can't say I have any exp with tube feeding although I'd be willing to learn and I have all the time in the world to take care of her. |

I wanted to come and let you all know that this little girl will be picked up tomorow. The woman has tube fed once before. Lets keep our fingers crossed! I will also post tomorow and let you all know that she made it through the night and was picked up safe. I hope this is the best place for her. The woman has a 8 week old yorkie puppy at home. Thank you all !!! |
