Any girl babies out there h*mp toys and such??? So Uni has been very moody lately, she is in the mating phase of her cycle, however I am not planning on ever breeding her. She has been whimpering to go see her "brothers" outside, a rat terrier (Doobie) and bull terrier (Duke). Of course I am not letting her anywhere near them. She has esp been hanging out near Duke's door. Anyway, she has this doll that looks like a pirate Duke, and she started humping it last night! She used to do it to her first bed. She'd do it so much that she'd be banging her head up against the wall and still continue! I'd have to move the bed away from the wall. Since she tore that bed to pieces and we tossed it, she's never done it again, till now! Anyone else's girl do this? I always thought it strange that a girl dog do it, just like a boy! What "benefit" would they get of this behavour, if anything??? Also, she was been so moody and growly this time. Really thinking about getting her spayed before next time. anyone get an adult spayed before and notice any change in personality??? I'd hate to see her spunk go away... |
I think spaying her will be beneficial to both of you! Spaying does not change the personality, but maturing will. I have a 13 y/o spayed poodle that still acts like a puppy. I also have a 2 y/o poodle that is spayed that still humps her bo bo toy. But, it sounds like your girl is humping because she is in heat. Good luck. |
If I spay her she will still hump? She used to hump her bed before she even got her first heat! I haven't seen her do it in years. |
Yes, Zoe does it with every heat.. it was funny at first but then it became a little much, kind of gross. So we have to guard the pillows and such when she goes into heat.:p |
There are a number of naughty girls on YT, but if she only humps during her heat, then yes, spaying her should eliminate the problem. In general, I am in favor of fixing animals that are not intended for breeding. |

LOL yes Uni can be a little naughty one sometimes!!! After her behaviour this time, I am going to spay her before next cycle. To be perfectly honest, I was thinking of breeding Uni before I found out about YT, which is why I didn't spay her when she was a pup. After educating myself, I realized that I am I have absolutely no business breeding animals. |
Zoe is a dirty girl.... just like her momma! Yeee Haaww! |
Phoebe just to hump my arm and hubby arm too when she was a pup, she will also will try to hump Shayna (when they were playing) never Melody:rolleyes: but she haven't done it in a very long long time  |
Tia has the occasional hump with her teddy and she has been spayed. At first I was quite shocked and had to look underneath her to check she was a girl lol. Now she knows when I say "no sex with teddy" she does stop straight away. They say its a dominance thing but I think she just wants to show him she loves him. He is rather handsome lol:) |

Annie's been spayed for six months but she still tries to hump our legs all the time. I don't know what to make of it either. |
Roxy has humped at times. We make her stop it & it hasn't really become an issue. It was usually to dh, but he likes laying on the floor a lot. Nice easy spot for her. Think she has only done it once since spaying a month ago. It was never excessive with her, but I think discouraging the behavior has helped to keep it from developing into a habit. |
Stormy tries to make love with my moms FEMALE yorkie while in heat lol |
This all cracks me up but makes me feel better. :D Bella Mia humps Yogi's leg (our much bigger pound doggie) and she trys to hump the cat who just lays there with a look of disgust! I hate when she does that because it is not very lady like! But it makes me laugh cause she is so serious about it! Oh and the bf says it is a dominance thing also. She is showing she is the littlest but still the dominant one of the house. |
Does it ever stop?? My Butter has humped her bed since she was big enough to get her little leg over it! And its EVERY day. She's been spayed for at least 4 months (she's a year old) and it didn't slow her down a bit. She goes so far as to drag her bed into the living room and hump it in there while we are watching TV. If we tell her to stop it, she does... for about 2 minutes... then it's back to humping. She has never tried to hump another dog though. I read where it was a dominance thing too... but sheesh, I'd like for her to grow out of it eventually! |
