To breed or to spay a 1.3kg yorkie girl? 1 Attachment(s) Hi, I have a 1 year old yorkie girl I'm thinking whether i should breed her or spay her.. im worry about the risk to breed due to her small size (1.3kg) and i know that spaying also involves certain risk please help!! :( |
Okay, I used the conversion for kg to lb and you baby weighs 2.86 lbs. My opinion is that she is way to small to breed. Here in the U.S it is not recommended to breed anything under 5 lbs. Breeding a female as small as yours could put her life and her babies lives at risk. |
Please spay her, she's much too small to have puppies. The risk of spaying (if she is otherwise a healthy girl) is far less than having her bred. |
Just spay her and love her.....she is beautiful!!:D |
SHe is a very pretty girl, I would not risk her life to breed her. IMO she is much to small. You should just enjoy her for the wonderful pet that she will be. :) Also, just because she is tiny, and maybe her parents were too, (don't know) this doesn't mean that her puppies will be small. Alot of times they will get there size and or looks from generations back. |

i'm aware that spaying her would improve her health conditions in future and maybe increase her lifespan but i'm also afraid on the risk that she might have on spaying.. |
Too small to breed Way way way too small to breed:confused:My baby is 3 1/4lbs. A friend ask me to breed her so they could adopt one of her pups. I told them absolutely not:mad:my baby is too preciouse to me to risk her life. P.S I would recommed a vet that specializes in small animals if you decide to get her spayed |

I agree...spay her. She is adorable. :) Find a vet that is knowledgeable with small animals and make sure to get blood work done before. |
No breeding. However, she is only about 2 1/2 lbs ~ def. find a Vet that specializes in small breeds. Maybe you need to see if she will gain any more weight though before spay. Has she gone into heat yet? Make sure she isn't around any intact males either :( |
awww she's so precious. I agree with everyone else. no worries about anything except loving her after she's spayed. |

Please spay her. She is much to small to have puppies and may risk losing her during the delivery. Not to mention that there are many homelss pups needing homes and with the economy being hit hard people are not able to take care of the babies they have. Just love her as she is a very beautiful little girl. |
