My :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork girls are a permanent fixture on the giant doggie bed...ummm, I mean my bed! Although, at some point during the night, lil' Miss Abby will leave the nest to slumber the rest of the night in a teeny-tiny doggy bed that she came with from when she was a puppy. She literally spills out of it or curls herself up like a pill-bug in it. :D |
I dont think it took long for Pasquale to make his way into our bed. It was sorta by accident really. I had been crate training him...and he hATED his crate! So i would let him fall asleep on my bed and then gently place him in the crate for the night. BUT he ALWAYS got up in the middle of the night to want to get out or use the bathroom. It was exhausting really. Then one night, hubby and i were just lying in bed playing with Pasquale and we ALL fell asleep. Well low and behold, morning came and it was the best night sleep all of us got in a long time. He didnt cry at all and didnt even have to use the bathroom. Now when he has to go pee pee at night, i hear him gently bounce of the bed, go into the bathroom, go on the pad, and then scurry back up. I think letting him sleep in our bed was the BEST thing we ever did. :D |

I just think that there is something special about them loving us so much that they WANT to sleep with us ya know? I mean when you really think about everything these little guys go through (being taken from mommy and siblings and all) it is good to know that they have a human comfort. |

Yes! My Dunky sleeps with me and my bf. He used to get so upset with me because when we first started dating, I would let Dunks sleep on my pillow. He had a bigger dog (boxer/pit mix) and he would let him sleep on the bed, but by his foot. Now though is a different story. My bf would let him walk on him, sleep on top of him, sleep on his pillow. Needless to say, Dunks got him trained now. LoL |
Paco currently sleeps in his crate, I'd love for him to sleep with me but I'm afraid of him having an accident on my bed or going on the carpet in my room. |
Cohen doesn't sleep with us..:( For some reason he thinks the bed is his boxing ring. He jumps all around and crouchs down in the covers like he's a tiger and then springs on us. The only way he will calm down and sleep through the night is if he's in his doggy bed... It could be just because he is young still but I dunno... |
Never Seems like I'm the odd one out! Buster & Bailey share a crate at night & sleep in our basement. They have never been in our bed for sleep, play, or otherwise. They sleep GREAT in our basement since it's dark & quiet (and yes I can still hear them when they're in the basement). We made the decision to keep them out of our bed since day 1 because of our allergies, my husband is an EXTREMELY light sleeper, and also because we need our private space. The dogs are never allowed on our bed at all. They get reign of every other area/room/piece of furniture in our house except our bed, the office & the spare bedroom though! |
molly sleeps on my pillow every night, and i wouldnt have it any other way, she cuddles in when my hubby leaves 4 his work she comes right up to my face and puts her lttle paws on my neck.. its a great feeling!! about 6am she will give a little bark to go outside, so molly is my alarm clock. lol..xnanx. |
Like most everyone else, Ramsey sleeps with us. He's either on my pillow or under the blankets between DH and me. |
Reese started sleeping with me and my DH, at 3 mos old, she will not use the bathroom on the bed or even in her cage, she can't stand it and she has always been like that since the day i brought her home. so as you can see we all spoil our york york's, i haven't seen someone yet say no i don't let mine sleep with me, i mean how can you say no to that cute lil innocent face.;) |

All 3 of my babies sleep with us. We wouldn't have it any other way. I have washable pee pads on the bedroom floor and every once and a while one of them will wake up go down the ramp do their business and get back in bed. When its bed time they will run around the bed and play and when the lights go out most of the time they will start making their bed to lay down. I think it is so funny watching them make their bed.:dogzzz: |
Our yorkie Zena sleeps with us and has been ever since we were convinced she would not soil the bed anymore (she got us three times before!). LOL! She will alert us to any goings on outside. ~CD |
My lil girl sleeps with me but you didn't hear that from me! She will not be on my bed, couch, or other furniture. :D Yeah right, that lasted about a day! I still have no idea how she got in my bed the first time! |
We start off by crate training our dogs. Once we have the crate training out of the way, we allow them to start sleeping in the bed with us. I haven't regretted the dogs sleeping with us once. |

OMG, we are more alike then ever imagined. That was the first thing i said when i brought chloe home. And with me, it lasted about the first day as well. hahaha |
my baby sleeps with us every night along with the hubby & my youngest daughter in our queen sized bed:) very crowded, but it's what we've adjusted to! sometimes ella starts in her bed beside ours, but it doesn't last long. she burrows her little body under our covers & as close to me as possible! i'm sometimes scared she's going to suffocate. it has also helped us in potty training... since she started sleeping in the bed with us she's learned to hold her pee pee alot longer... we originally tried crate training, but my heart couldn't take her crying for not being in the room with us:( i'm a softie when it comes to that sweet little baby face!! |
sleeping puppy Yes my furbaby sleeps with me... and if she is tired she lets me know she is ready for bed... she was so tiny when I first got her she slept in the nook of my arm. Now she curls up beside me and sleeps... I miss her if she isnt in bed with me.:) We have a king size bed and she has to sleep right up on me lol... |
Bella's been sleeping with us from day one. To be honest I don't think I could fall asleep without her sleeping up against me. |
It was the easiest way to potty train them as I was told they would not pee where they sleep. They never did. They would always wake me and I would just take them right outside. Now they usually sleep through the night, occasionally waking me about 4 or 5 to go out. My Silky sleeps under the covers right next to my hip (don't ask me how he breathes!) and my Biewer sleeps right between my husband's and my pillow. They never deviate. It would feel strange to not have them now. Although, not sure my husband is the happiest camper. But we work around that. Guess that's a whole 'nother thread! |
How do you get then to be still? I guess I'm the odd ball... Harley is not allowed to sleep with me or be on my bed... I've read it raises dominance issues... but we don't have any dominance problems and I'm not sure if that's because he's not on the bed or because of other things... The other reason why he's not on the bed? This little rascal CAN NOT keep still. How do you get them to just get on the bed, be still and go to sleep? He runs everywhere and licks my face until I'm like, forget it! I'm sleepy. Then I take Harls and put him in his crate so we can both shut our eyes and think about far away places lol! |
I too don't let them sleep with us. Ivy and Max sleep together in their crate in our bedroom. But on the weekends Max will wake up at the time I would be getting up for work to go to the bathroom, and after he is done he runs upstairs so fast and into our bed that I just let him.:D:D Poor Ivy can't go upstairs by herself, but she then gets the chair all to herself. And the best part is Mommy and Daddy get to sleep in :p;) |
So, should I crate Roxy for the first few nights to make sure she doesnt have any accidents and then move her to the bed? My chi never had accidents at night from the day we got her but I don't know if Roxy will be the same way or not. |
2 sleep on the bed with us, one sleep on the floor. Usually on the pillows from the bed, but if I leave a shirt or something on the floor, she jumps at the opportunity to sleep on it instead. Our Basset sleeps somewhere in the living room...the floor, couch...it varies, but she rarely makes it past 1am until she wants to go back outside. Sometimes she comes back in, but usually she stays out until the morning. |
I wanted Mia to sleep with me but she prefers to sleep in her play pen ! I sleep better with her in the play pen because I was afaid she would fall off or jump off the bed so it works out good for both of us. I also have two Jack Russell Terriers that sleep in the bed with me. |
our toy poodle does cause she is my husband's baby.. otherwise she would be in the kennel like the others. She has her own bed that she is suppose to sleep in but usually she ends up between my legs or on my pillow. |
