I'm glad you forgive me I appreciate it. I didn't know it was considered rude to quote someone and say specifically that something they had said bothered you; I do this all the time. I guess I just didn't notice any rude posts. Some people felt stronger than others, and some have a great deal of experience in this sort of thing, but I didn't see the posts as rude. I actually feel more of a need to speak up for others, than I do myself. Even if that person is a generic person without a name. I reply often to posts where others are criticized for giving their honest views. Sometimes people say it's the "way" we said something, but I think it's because they just didn't like what was said. When you say, "people realise more than you know, but most won't say a word". I actually have no idea what you mean. Its like some plot is going on. |

This was a story with a happy ending! Let's leave it at that. |
Congrats to you and your new family members. I know they will bring you years of unconditional love and smiles. I do hope EVERYONE comes in and tells you congratulations and leave it at that. If you ask for advice, that is one thing but hopefully people won't horn in and tell you to spay or neuter them, what to feed them, how to potty train them, etc. Again, if you ASK for it, that's different but sometimes people can be kinda pushy with their beliefs. Here at YT there are so many wonderful ways to enjoy and raise our babies. I would hope that everyone would provide each other with that respect. :) Now, any ideas on a name for your boy? Both are just darling! :) |
Yaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!! |
Congratulations! I am glad everything worked out both for you and your friends. |

Of course you can get a free Yorkie My Alfie is just such The rescue centre asked us to save him, he was booked in to be put to sleep. All he cost me was a £50.00 donation to the rescue centre, I gave nothing to the owners. |

YAY!! Congrats on your new babies!!!:D |
Not to change the subject, and this little Yorkie isn't totally free, but I got two little toy poodles a while ago (sisters) from a rescue site in Mo. I am from N.Y. Misty and Amber are wonderful. Got Misty first when it looked like no one was going to adopt her. Saw her picture on line. She is blind in one eye and weak back knees from being on wire in a breeding kennel and missing many teeth. She was too tiny to breed but was neglected. Kim, at JUST US RESCUE saved her. Later her sister, Amber, was made available and I adopted her. Her pelvis had been broken but was healed when Kim saved her. I like to look on the site to see the dogs Kim rescues and I saw yesterday that she has a rescued female yorkie from a breeding kennel who she just got who needs a home. "Shasta" is 10.2 lbs. not tiny but a pretty dog. She will be spayed 7/23 and teeth cleaned. Has had all her shots. Kim can fly her to you but it is around $200 . It is safe and done every day if you aren't from the area the dog is coming from. Kim has been rescuing dogs for years and makes sure they are people and animal friendly before she lets them go to their adoptive homes. She also has some other little dogs on her site that were rescued and looking for homes. These rescued dogs are so appreciative to be loved and have a home. My little Misty Grace can run around now that her little legs have gotten strong. The vet saw no reason to operate on them. $275 that Kim asks for is for the spaying, shots, teeth cleaned or some removed and any need that the dog has to get well...certainly that amount doesn't even cover their care but helps with the cost. So essentially the dogs are free. One other thing...what is a belly band used for? |
So happy for you! Free puppy! aren't you lucky or what!!! Enjoyed your new babies!! :) |
I also am against puppy mills. I would love it if they were all closed. SHIH TZU AND OTHER FURBABIES is another rescue organization across the country that goes into puppy mills and rescues little dogs and then fosters them and when ready finds them adoptive homes. Learned about them from my groomer. It is across the country. Have my name in for one...they have a few yorkies needing homes. They aren't free for they also need to bring them to the vet, get them neutered and take care of their issues. The people are all volunteers. I am in the process now of adopting and they are very careful to make sure your home is the right fit for the dog. Why rescue an animal and then put him/her in a bad home? So if anyone is against puppy mills and you have extra love to share and some room in your home adopting from a rescue organization is the way to go. We also have a great one here in N.Y. called BLUE MOON MEADOWS that finds homes for dogs and a few cats . They originally started to rescue animals whose owner had died or was put in a nursing home and no one in the family wouldl come forward and give them a home. BLUE MOON MEADOWS volunteers are now going into high kill shelters and rescuing wonderful dogs that have no one to speak up for them. We all were so appreciative when two little yorkies were adopted the other day. There are many more out there as well as other animals who are in need of loving homes. |

What a wonderful lady Kim sounds like! I suggest posting a new thread in the Yorkie Rescue section to you so that maybe someone who isn't looking at this thread, but is looking to adopt will see it. Wish I had room for another as I'd love to have her. Belly bands are like the cloth diapers used on a female that's in heat, but they are for males and only cover the penis area. It looks like a cloth bandaid with velcro on it to secure it together at the top. Hope that helps. It's great for dogs that love to mark. I keep one at my house so with my father comes from PA with his male pom (who loves to mark) I have it to put on him indoors. Oh, and Welcome to YT! |
I have several cats that could use the belly bands. haaa Thanks! |

Nope I wasn't referring to you either. I do know the difference between concern and negative posting. I to was concerned for the Op going by herself and I am glad she took someone with her. But the person I was referring to posted about taking a man to be safe and then about taking a gun with her. I know all the problems wioth the puppymills and I am an active member on several groups trying to shut them down but whatever happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt. Granted I know some were concerned with her getting sick dogs but to tell someone that they shouldn't because they would end up paying out more in vet bills is alot different than saying they may end up doing that. I never stated any one was Ignorant and I would never say that about anyone I merely stated there were negative posts and that being said I am done with this conversation because continuing will go nowhere. I stated my opinion and Now I will go back to reading and learning what I need to know. |

*I would also like to add that when you volunteer with rescue you are exposed to the worst elements of the breeder world. Maybe if you had some spare time you too could volunteer time and be able to wrap your mind around our caution to situations like this. May I also suggest you choose your friends and allies wisely :) |
MegansMamma Sorry to hear about your broken arm. Must be very painful. Hope that you heal quickly. |

*sorry if there are a few errors in spelling ane wording one handed and on Vicadian will do that to a girl ;) |

If you had read the last post I made you would also see that I was not referring to you unless you suggested the OP take a gun with her when she went to go look at the puppies. I do think it's funny that people keep thinking it was them. As far as the working in rescue, I have and I know it's not a pretty sight. in fact I was exposed to that when I was in my teens and volunteering at a local animal shelter. Have you ever seen a dog come in with half it's head bashed in and it's barely clinging to life. I have. That dog was brought in from a breeder who deemed her no longer breedable. I have plenty of friends and allies so please don't make any suggestions on that part. |

Bummer about your arm. I broke my wrist one time and it messed me up for months as it was on my primary hand. In regard to the firends and allies wisely. Why must that be an issue here at YT? I have never seen this forum as being Pro and Con Yorkie or Pro and Con Breeders or Pro and Con Millers. I see this forum as being informational to all people and hope that the people that are offering advice are honest in their credentials. I hope that people that are offering words of encouragement and congratulations as being sincere. If this is about getting the most friends on my side then I am in serious trouble here at YT. I guess I will need to re-think my membership. |
You both meant well and both sound like super people. Most animal people have kind hearts. Anyone would be lucky to have you both on their side. We all need to get together and do something to close puppy mills. |
