You have every right to be annoyed. Suppose your pup became sick from
those ribs would he pay the vet bill? Yorkies are not suppose to eat
fatty food and I'm sure you told him that. Total disrespect for your wishes
IMO. I am sorry your put in that position but I would certainly read
him the riot act so there would not be a next time.

I wouldnt be too happy with the family members either. It is YOUR dog, you have the right to raise YOUR dog as YOU see fit whether anyone else agrees with you or not.

Well, that's the thing.... I do give Jackson human food. I'm really NOT strict, lol. He doesn't get excessive amounts but I do give him left over meats and such and he's a healthy dog. He's not overweight a bit, he eats mostly all healthy treats and a good dog food, etc. He gets loads of nice walks. And he listens very well (okay, 97% of the time he does!) so the fact that my step-dad was like telling me to chill, he's just a dog, just blows my mind! LOL. If he thinks I'm nuts, he would probably think everybody on this board is completely crazy! LOL. He just doesn't understand that Jackson is my baby and he's like my child - I want the best for him. And my step-dad is a nice guy, I get along with him, but he's definitely clueless when it comes to certain things. It's just irritating.

I hate this!! People are always trying to give Couver treats, and I say no... He always gets sick if he gets too much, so I really monitor his intake.

People do not understand that it is bad for them, and you should be able to choose what your dog eats :mad:

Why is a rib bone so bad? Is it beause it's cooked, and pieces could cause obstructions?

Thor thinks bully sticks are too much work, so I don't have to worry about him getting bones. :p Well, except for those darn chicken bones he's so good at finding everywhere outside.

Yep, that's what I've read. They splinter in their throats and stuff after they've been cooked.

But really, I just don't trust Jackson because if he has something good in his mouth and I go and try to take it away from him... *GULP* down it goes. lol. That's why I had to do a nice little trade-off for some roast beef for the bone, lol

This is the most difficult thing to deal with ! Especially when it's family members! Who believe they mena well, and disrergard your requests, and do it anyway! :mad:
My brother can be like that! WHen he is over my place, it is not Suzi I have to watch, IT is him! making sure he is not giving her anything bad to eat. She has thrown up before, after he's left. My brother has dogs. They are ones that he give scraps to, and feeds them about anything. He does not get it.
Not for my Suzi , and i have educated him about yorkies. He has seen Suzi ill before, and how upset and heartsick I was. :(
