Help, I'm a bad mother!
 
OK, I've had my Yorkie boys for six months and they still don't have names. I just can't come up with anything that I can stick to. I've tried: Austin, Aidan, Oliver, Holden, Jackson, Jacob, Cullen, Ethan, Jude, Jack, Henry, etc.... And I can't decide. I received them on 12/22 and by 6/22 I MUST have a name!

Lol, try calling them by different names and see which ones they react to best. We tried it with our Lulu and it worked.
We also picked up a theme — French Perfumes — and she is named after the LouLou Cacharel scent.
We are getting our second furboy this weekend, and his full name is gonna be Trésor (which means treasure in French, but is also a perfume). And Trezi in short.

I call them Little Butt and Big Butt, lol. I won't be checking them in at the vet with those names! I will keep trying names, but I have a feeling that I will keep changing.


Where are you getting your boy from? I think it is good when they have a companion!

I also think they name themselves, I always stressed over names and never once named them what I thought I would. Somehow they just picked their names once they came home.

I'm getting the new baby from a breeder in Los Banos. I think Lulu will like an accomplice, after she'll get used to the fact she's not the only princess in the house anymore. :p

I have heard that people are now choosing to name their pets more Human names, and the most popular ones. Here are the top 10 ! Of course you could always shorten these names ! I did that , to give you some ideas:D

Oh my!!! You sound like ME!!! I am due to bring my new baby home hopefully this weekend and I have been obsessing over her name!!! Every time I THINK I have the perfect name some one reminds me of so-and-so or says a nickname that I do NOT like and ruins it for me. I really wanted it to be unique yet "girly". We already have not 1 but 2 Bella's on our block which I loved the name Bella. Went from Paisley (I NEVER thought of Brad Paisley-I thought of the print) to Chloe (found out my sis-in-law's is Chloe and we DON'T speak) to Vada from the movie "My Girl" to Zoë. I also considered Hollis and I really liked it. Mercy was another one and IF she was a mix like a Morkie or Yorkie Poo it would have been Hemi-meaning half. :) I have spent hours online at name sites!!! Once we bring her home I am wondering if Zoë will fit and I will stick to it? KWIM??? It is SO hard!! Harder than naming my children!!!

I had 8 weeks to decide on a girls name. I would pick a name and somebody would make a comment and I would change it. The breeder had said that when I decided on a name she would start calling the puppy by that name so I really wanted to come to a decision. I like Zoey, Chloe, Tessie, Rosey, Roxy etc. and finally decided on Piper. I think no matter what you name your puppy after awhile that name really becomes them. I can't imagine Piper with any other name. So whatever names you do choose I'm sure they'll be the right names for your little boys.

I could have wrote your post. I agree though I think that once you make up your mind and stick with it there name becomes "them" and you can't imagine it any other way. :) I have decided on Zoë who will be coming home this weekend!!! Woo-hoo!!! I can hardly stand the wait now that we are getting so close!!!!!

Before we even brought our little girl home she had ID tags with Ruffles, Muffin, and Pebbles that I can remember. I think there is another one that I've forgotten. However, we have id tags with our phone number for each name! (Seems I plan too far ahead sometimes...LOL)

She ended up with the name Taffy and although she has several ID tags, right now she is tagless. (She is chipped and if/when we travel with her, she will be tagged.)


For boy's names I like these:

Chase, Case, Chance, Cody, Cannon

If you want "cute" why not go for a pair of names that relate like.....
Chip and Dip (LOL...how about Chip and Dale)
I think that's humorous and you could write the combined names as
Chip-n-Dale

I couldn't resist...LOL
Now back to my regularly scheduled "programs" LOL

My parents yorkie they had when I was a child was Max. It was funny to take him to the vet, they would be expecting Max to be a large dog, which of course, he wasn't. I like the name Sam. Also more cute combos...Otis and Milo works nice too. Muffin's mom:animal-pa

For my last pet- which was a Ragdoll kitten I was determined to name her something Hawaiian. So I googled Hawaiian names. It worked out great- her name is Pualani- which means heavenly flower! I love it and will always go that site. It sounds great -is fun to say and shortens to Poo!
I love Hawaii so eveytime I say her name I think of my favorite place.

What do you have them registed as at the vet?

Poor things all those names, do they answer to any of them? Do either of them have a quirk or something they do that you could name them by? I try to name by dogs by something cute or funny they do. This dog was pretty much name by our daughter so she has a human name.

We had a client where I worked who owned a big beautiful cat. He was from Hawaii so he named the cat "Huggamo" Hug-uh-moe.

I always have a hard time too. What about your favorite tv/movie star or characters name? Or music star/band name? or a book character? Favorite clothing brand? Disney character? If you have kids ask them for suggestions. GOOD LUCK!!

LoL Big Butt and Little Butt, you could shorten to Little B and Big B , or go for Stan and Ollie, for Laurel and Hardy. It is so hard to name new furkids
