How did you convince your significant other
 

to get a second Yorkie? We were approved by a local Yorkie rescue and they emailed me regarding a little girl- see photo below. Amelie is a year and four months and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Her personality is described as energetic and playful. I think she would be a good match for Chase. They are around the same age, weight, and have similar personalities. Of course I would have them meet each other beforehand to make sure they get along. My boyfriend feels like one is enough since we have a lot going on... he was the exact same way before we got Chase and BF absolutely ADORES him now :rolleyes:.

That can be tricky i have 4 now and its taking me 8 years...lololol

i got gidget 3 years ago
i bought tanner home to "rehome" for someone else almost 2 years ago
and the newest, my husband just gives in now...lol he helped me look, and pick out the new addition and he drove 2 hours up there

When I got my 2nd yorkie home I got her for my birthday and brought her in singing Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me!!!!!! Lol A little sneaky but it worked......

I just kept showing papa pictures of Lolita and saying isn't she beautiful. She really does need a home like ours and Laddy really needs a playmate. Just look at that little face. etc. Didn't take long lol one evening and it was a done deal.

My husband kept saying, "NO DOG!" I waited 2 months after our previous dog died. I needed time to get some money together to buy Mia. It took my son 30 seconds to fall in love, and my husband about 10 minutes.

He keeps saying one is enough. I figure if I didn't ask for the first, why ask for the second. Permission or forgiveness......you decide!!

HAHAHAHAHAH! I could totally see myself doing this. I'm sure you got the funniest look ever too :p wow thats hilarous!

She looks pretty irristable ;)! Tell him you don't know what will happen to her if you don't bring her home. Does he really want to live with not knowing what happened to her?? lol! But I'd say like what was posted before, it's easier to ask forgivness then permission. There is truth to that. Good luck I hope it all works out. Keep us posted!

Get it and then tell him!!! LOL We put our Jack to sleep about two months ago and hubby kept saying no more at least not know. But I told him I was looking, and when I came across one in a rescue and showed him the pic and stuff he knew he lost and I won!!! He was really attached to Jack and he absoltely loves Jake now too. He feel in love with him as soon as he saw him.

Once I brought home the pot bellied pig hubby lets me have whatever pet I want as long as it's a dog or cat.:D

I'm gonna stray from he crowd and say that you need to get your husbands blessing before you get another. Sorry. :( But discuss it with him and maybe it can be a birthday gift or something? He needs to know how important it is to you.

She's gorgeous.....I hope you can get her....how could anyone give a something so precious.

It can be difficult to be approved by aan animal rescue. This is a chance in a lifetime. Since you have been through this with your boyfriend before, i believe you have every reason to bring home a new one :) He is your Boyfriend, does he live with you? If not , I do not see why NOT bring her home? If B/F live with you, be sure to let him know what an honor it is to be rescuing a Yorkie . ANd what a beautiful thing this is :) If all else fails, see if you can bring home the dog on a trial basis, just enough time for B/f to fall in love with her, and all will work out wonderfully ! :thumbup:

Oh BOY tough question lol Ummm let's see...when i first got Teddy i didn't even ask him, my bf came to my house and i said 'Hey look what i got!' LOL But of course he fell in love anyway. Then 3 mos later i wanted a girl so i looked online, found London and had her shipped to me...again i said 'Hey...meet our baby girl!!' LOL He fell in love with her too. And finally i wanted another girl when I spotted Sophie, now that was unexpected but i loved her look. Well low and behold i got her too but he ended up buying her for me! Of course, he fell in love too with her and that is how we got 3. And soon after he was saying how he wanted another boy to even it out. I think it was easy to convince him since he never had a dog before and always wanted one, so now that he knows what its like he loves it, he is such a dog person cause of me :p But in answer to your ques. i don't ask him, i just do things spontaneously lol But then again we dont yet live together so i can do what i want:eek::p But i know he will always accept cause he can't resist their precious faces. That little girl you want to get is adorable and it sounds like she will get along with your baby:thumbup:

LMAO i agree with this! too funny, except i cant say that cause i live in a building:p But yes it is easier to get forgiveness when you put the cute puppy in front of your face while doing it, then to ask for permission lol

I think it should be easy to have him agree to a 2nd one, when you get to 4+ it might be harder ;) I have no advice because I get my way easily when it comes to just about anything. I hope your able to bring that precious baby girl home :)

I would tell him 2 is great. They play a lot and look so cute snuggled up and besides this cutie needs a loving home! Luckily my DH will let me have as many as I want. He gave me the money for Pixie and Roxie.

I tend to bring up the subject of a real baby.. over and over and over and over and over... he is better suited with me having yorkies rather than starting over with a child. What? ~ it works every time!

My first and only one, i received her from my fiance cause I used to have a chihuahua that passed away from old age. Everytime i see a chihuahua I would tear and cry. My fiance felt so bad, he took me to the breeder and told me to chose one. I was so surprised and overwhelmed. I did not want another dog after Juna(my teacup chihuahua) and as soon as a I Mimi and held her, I fell in love =). he used all his Bush stimulus check on me lmao

of course he wants me to have another yorkie around Mimi's weight and size. Hopefully soon =D

I just kept sending emails with her picture and information about her. I kept saying she's calling to me and she needs us!!! Finally gave in and we went and got her (Maggie). Of course, we already had 4 dogs, and now we have 5. I guess what's one more! ;-)
