Would it be a good idea to take my yorkie here In Atlanta there is a place call Stone Mountain. You can go hiking there and it has a whole lot of stuff to do. Now I wanted to take my yorkie but im cared of hawks???? |
And they are not afraid of you !!! What about snakes or coyotes? I would feel better if I knew my babies were safe at home...A walk in the park sounds soooo much better !!!! |
I think I would skip it. May be too much for a new yorkie pup. Too many dangers. |
How old is Munchie. Make sure he has all of his shots including rabies before you go out where wild animals may roam. |
Well its more like a park. On its website it says its a theme park. He is only 2 months. I was going to have him on his leach on hold him |
I used to spend many weekends at stone mountain growing up! Awww, memories! I personally think it may be more of a hassle taking a puppy with you. As long as you are holding him or he is on a leash, he should be fine. There are plenty of people around so its not like its going to be just you, the dog and the hawks. I would just make sure that pets are permitted in all areas. Have fun! |

I wouldn't take him too many public places until he has all his shots. Young pups are very suceptible to viruses and infections. At two months he has not had all of his shots. |
Don't worry, you will have plenty of time to take him all kinds of places. You will enjoy him so much. Just take some time and let him settle in and get comfortable. |
I think little Munchie is too young to have fun at Stone Mountain. We didn't take our Toto out in public much until she was about 6 months old ... certainly don't let him be on the ground or let strangers touch him. Maybe I was too overprotective! :) |
ok thanks for the advice guys, I learn so much here. I dont kow if this is a crazy question but what about for walks |
I would still wait until he has all his shots. Especially if walking where other dogs walk. Parvo is big concern in puppies. It's like having a baby you just have to be so careful. Ask the vet when you pick him up, he will advise you on these issues. |

In one study of a cross section of different puppies the age at which they were able to respond to a vaccine and develop protection covered a wide period of time. At six weeks of age, 25% of the puppies could be immunized. At 9 weeks of age, 40% of the puppies were able to respond to the vaccine. The number increased to 60% by 16 weeks, and by 18 weeks of age, 95% of the puppies could be immunized. We have a stroller and love it. It makes it so easy to take them places and you don't have to worry about them getting stepped on. |
